I know that I'm a bit late to the (lemon)party here, but I do believe that the reason that this particular (myth?) could be true is from the prejudice that you (and many others) have against homosexuals.
Let me back up a bit here and explain myself:
I have absolutely nothing against love of any form ( ). Do I find other men attractive enough to want to have sexual intercourse with them? No I don't. Do I find the act of male homosexual sex icky and gross? Yes, but I also find that watching fat people eat (oysters, especially) often gives me the EXACT same feeling of ickyness and gross-out grossness. Does that make me a fatist (a person who hates fat people)? No, it just means that I will choose to not watch them eat, much like I choose not to watch a male, same-sex couple have sexual relations.
All of that being said, out of all of the homosexuals that I know, about half of them have had many more sexual partners than I have had in my (sexually active) years. I believe that this is primarily because of the shame that society has placed on the act of homosexual love-making. If everyone could just learn to keep their godzilladamned noses out of everyone else's business, homosexuals might just be able to walk around in public with their partner without feeling the shame (and guilt) that we as a society have placed upon their (simple act of) love. If this were the case, they wouldn't feel the need to run around in the shadows, hiding their true selves from the world. In the last few years, things have definitely gotten better for same-sex couples, but there still exists plenty of prejudice and downright hate.
It's not about chemicals in the brain. It's not about any particular choices that a person has made. It's not about how they act. It's not about how they talk. It's about them being true to themselves and being allowed to just fucking love someone like everyone else is allowed to do.
Fifty years ago (in my country, the US), it was illegal (in most states) for an interracial couple to be caught together in public, let alone get married and have children. This led to much promiscuity which then led to higher instances of venereal disease in the minority population. Many people used this as an excuse to ostracize many people (as humans are wont to do), much the same as the AIDS epidemic has led many countries (not just the US) to disenfranchise the homosexual community for the past three decades.
I don't believe in equal rights, I believe in inalienable rights. Everyone treated as they should be. Some people deserve to be treated differently because of their situation (not poorly, differently).
But what the fuck do I know? I'm just some poor, dirty, dumb, muffler-installing, American.
Oh, btw, go fuck yourself in your own ass with a shotgun, you bigoted fuckstain of a meatbag. Whether you believe it or not, let me tell you that your words are as bigoted as I've ever heard. Saying that you aren't a bigot doesn't make it so; much like me telling you that I'm not crazy makes me sane. Crazy people never know that they are crazy, that's one of the hallmarks of mental illness.
If my remarks earn me a ban, so be it. I'm just sick and tired of seeing, people that have no clue (in earnest) about what they are talking about. I, too, don't have the right kind of perspective to be able to say what it is to be a homosexual, but I know right from wrong and I know that there is nothing wrong with loving another person, so long as that other person loves you back. Color, creed, orientation, etc., make no difference (as they should).

Just to put a slightly different spin on this, my younger brother (who is gay) has had far fewer sexual partners than I have and is currently a single man looking for love (PM me if interested ).

If I were a homosexual man, I'd take Keewee's remarks as a personal insult. Seeing as there aren't nearly as many homosexual men on here as it, sometimes, appears, I felt the need to even the playing field by lobbing a personal insult at Keewee.
People need to learn that, just because they think a thing is wrong, it isn't necessarily that way. Unless it is trouncing on the natural rights of other people(s). If everyone (and I do mean EVERYONE) believes something to be wrong, then it is considered wrong. Even murderers know that killing is wrong, they just don't care.
We could all learn a thing or two about kindness, acceptance, and decency. We are all to blame for the situation(s) that we are in. I own (the psychological meaning, not the material meaning) my shit, why can't others do the same?
I make no apologies for my outburst, much as homosexuals should make no apologies for just, simply, being.

Do lesbians disgust you (and yes, that's exactly what it is to you) as well then?
If your son is gay, does that change ANYTHING about who he is? Did it change his personality in any way?
What if that son in the next bedroom were to lay there with an <insert whatever kind of girl you can't stand> girl, but you don't like that type of girls, would that be just as "bad"?
Unfortunately for you, a person's physical gender has got fuck all to do with their sexuality. Some girls like girls (and I don't blame them ), some boys like boys. One does not simply choose who they are attracted to. I'm not gay and if a gay man comes on to me, I will hold him off just like I'd hold off a girl I'm not attracted to - in fact, I have done both. I definitely don't want to watch two gay men do their thing, but that doesn't mean I'll avoid them as if they've got the plague. Dingo found the closet door recently and he's still the same funny guy on here as he has always been. In fact, he's probably even funnier than before because he likes gay jokes as much as the rest of us do, which makes them so much more fun to make.
If a friend or relative of yours told you he was gay all of a sudden and you'd be in less contact with them because of that, all that tells me is that you are one sorry, insecure excuse for a man. Period.
Please do explain how your recent discovery of Ian McKellen being gay changes him or any role he's played in any way. I'm interested to find out what exactly has changed. The man is still the same brilliant actor and charming man he has always been. Also, "in my childhood there was no gay people" -> 
That statement shows just how badly sheltered and secluded you've lived your life. I suggest you open a history book, you'll find that homosexuality has "been around" since forever, and many well-respected authors, noblemen, artists, kings, dictators, emperors or whatever were openly gay. During the renaissance it was even more common for "noblemen" to abuse teenage boys (and girls for that matter and it was wrong either way) than it was during the Roman Empire - where it once again was pretty damn common..

buahaha, so from all my posts you only understand that i HATE gays? right? i never typed that i HATE gays, i NEVER TYPE that i'm homophob, i just typed that i'm DISAPOINTED by that, - mark was on guy who plays gandalf - Ian McKellen, same feeling/shit is similar compared to "new" bad james bond actor, he simply is not real james bond anymore, so it's illegal to be dissapointed? i also typed that i could possibly be friends with gays as long they keep their sexual business FROM me, understand NAO?, and why all the insults? i never insulted anyone here on nfohump, and i'm here from 2007. For everyone who understand my posts on this topic WRONG, i couldnt care less about you and your life. I was remarking on your comment about how homosexual=AIDS. Nothing more.
Also, to tell someone to not share certain aspects of their life usually leads them to believe that you don't accept them as a person. If I were to tell you to keep your sexual exploits to yourself, would I not be doing the exact same thing?
Nobody here denies that they find sex with someone that they aren't attracted to repulsive. But to make the jump to saying something like:

Denotes a certain ignorance about how exactly that particular disease is spread. And, even if it were the fault of homosexual society, the only reason that they might possibly be promiscuous is because of the social stigma that goes along with being a homosexual (which I remarked on earlier).

Does the fact that he enjoys having sexual intercourse with men change the fact that he is one of the greatest actors of his generation? Does it mean that he is undeserving of our respect? Does it change who he is? No, no, and no.
Acceptance is one of the only things that most of my homosexual friends ask, nothing more.
And, for the record, I'm not one of those people who refuse to use the word fag or faggot. I use them to describe people that are inept and, quite frankly mentally incompetent. If you look closely, I have not used either of those words to describe you, as that would be a true insult.
Once again, you have my apologies for a, rather uncouth, remark that was made primarily out of anger, as unjustifiable as my anger was.
