Taken 2 - 5/10. Not a very good movie, compared to the first or otherwise.
The Hobbit - 8/10.

Cloud Atlas - 1/10 - boring
Could not get past 30 minutes into the movie, never enjoyed this type of random cuts between characters I don't care about. Felt like pretentious nonsense mixed with rather terrible latex masks, on Tom Hanks and other actors, ugly shitty props, lack of authenticity, mixed with dialogue and environments that are more surrealistic than anything else (in this case a bad thing). I'm sure this non-linear movie is supposed to be "artistic" - it just comes off as shit to me.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

End of Watch - 8/10
Great surprise, a quite unique and gripping cop movie which makes realism its priority, helped by the two main actors' excellent performances.

Cloud Atlas
Not what i expected i must admit but i have only seen one short trailer for the movie an x-amount of months ago and a short interview with the Wachowskis. I knew very little about this movie going into to it and had no real preconceived notions (other than that it was about several different stories in different times/places that was linked somehow) about it which was probably good.
I liked the movie but be warned, this is not a popcorn flick.
------
The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey
I watched this at the movies last weekend. I really liked it, it was very nice seeing Ian Mckellen back as Gandalf. And Martin Freeman was a good pick for Bilbo. Anyways my personal feeling is that if you liked LOTR you will most likely enjoy The Hobbit also (for those of you who that haven't seen it for some reason).

The movie indeed starts very chaotically but in the first couple of minutes a character says (to the audience):
"While my extensive experience as an editor has led me to a disdain for flashbacks and flash forwards and all such tricksy gimmicks I believe that if you, dear Reader, can extend your patience for just a moment, you will find that there is a Method to this tale of Madness."
Then it proceeds on introducing the characters and setting of each of the 6 stories, beginning with the first, moving on to the second, and so on.
After this is over, 40 minutes in, a character says (again, quite clearly to the audience):
"(...)you have a choice. You can either stay here(...) or come with me."
It's an invitation to the audience and a promise you'll be rewarded for extending your patience for those 40 minutes.
And the movie then starts cutting between all 6 stories and the roller coaster ride begins, jumping from story to story using visual, sonic, thematic cues, developing common threads and connections etc
By shutting it off near the 30 mark the 6th story's characters haven't even been introduced to you yet. You didn't extend your patience to find the method in their tale of madness.
Not saying you'd like it, as you seem to have a great deal of issues with even technical aspects such as the props(?!) but you didn't give it a proper chance (and you don't have to).
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Judge Dredd 2012 4/10 Wow that was a wasted one trick pony (the drug slowdown). Its like they made a boring version of The Raid in a Judge Dredd setting. The original had a near brilliant plot compared to this and thats pretty sad.
Taken 2 6/10 Meh

Yeah it looked interesting from the trailer(s), but ended up exceeding my expectations, especially the acting. It was also quite moving

Frankenwinnie ... 6/10 meh. Another overrated Burton's film -.- (and i love his old ones) It's just meh.. and being black & white is not really helping or making it more artistic or anything..

Universal Soldier
rewatched it after ... 15 years idk..? one of the best action movies ever! man the action scenes are sweeet. fuckin awesome. van damme and lundegren were a great duo. that chase through the desert..him throwing grenades and screaming like a mad man was awesome. and the final fight scene. van damme hitting him hard ..those punches and kicks. 10/10
