Black Mesa with Borderlands 2 hot on it's heels.
Maybe Far Cry 3 will come close to Borderlands 2, whenever I'll get around to actually play it (2014-2015, probably  )

My vote for Borderlands 2. Best first-person shooter of the year. Dishonored is a better game as a whole but this is a specific category we're qualifying here.

Dishonored
FC3 just felt like a weak Stalker wannabe with the only half-way interesting character being Vaas, and that was mostly thanks to the voice actor. Good game, just not good enough.

Dishonored, no hesitation or even threatened by any of the others. I simply adored it.
Black Mesa would be my second choice, but since it's a mod
FC3 felt... generic somehow and didn't pull me in. I just felt bored.
Borderlands 2? I hated the first one and the entire shallow game style of it so I never bothered with Borderlands 2.
The Darkness II? Extremely repetitive to the point I had to uninstall it.

Definitely Dishonored, because Black Mesa is basically just remade HL1 and Far Cry 3 is a sandbox game (however, a very good one at that).
