Def seems to be the TV shows that have been getting targetted on usenet. Dunno why I guess that once torrent indexes got banned in the US usenet was the next easy target. The last couple of weeks shows like fringe n Arrow have been copping takedowns before they even propagate. It definitely seems to be the adolescent escapist shows that are worrying hollywood, which is a sure sign that usenet had become too easy.
The takedowns seemed to be across the board one of the kids has become hooked on 'arrow' n he signed up to a mob of free trials last week trying to get a couple of fills for the bits he missed between beginin the dl n the takedown. None of the servers had it so tixati was run for the first time in a very long time.
Yet the kids friends always refuse to have anything to do with usenet cause "it's too hard "or 'doesn't stream' or whatever.
I'm gonna miss bein able to dig out old movies that were posted once years ago, n still remained on the matrix index. Dunno anyone else who has that sorta wayback index all nice and neatly catagorised.

It was more than TV shows. Movies were DMCA'd right away (Dark Knight never stayed up longer than a few hours) including Xbox games.

I bought it because it did what I wanted. The free version is pretty decent if you are just trailing.

the only reason, torrents work and will work for any forseeable future, is because its decentralized. Its hard, nay impossible, to "remove" torrents. Unlike data on a usenet server.

i cant see a huge difference in all the nzb sites and any search engine e.g google. I have just googled Dexter.nzb and that links to the site that links to another site that builds the nzb file..can it not be argued that google is also holding "pirated" material

Well... Morganelli group from that twitter - specializing in DMCA'ing Usenet.
Quote: | As of September 2012, we have sent over 600,000 DMCA notices and verified the content has been removed for our clients. We have worked closely with several large providers to ensure our requests were handled swiftly. We have personally spoken with every major Usenet provider in the world through years of connections. We have assisted providers with API calls to ensure content has been removed promptly. We are the Usenet removal pioneers. Others may attempt to do this but will never get to our level. With our connections, our team that monitors over 17 indexing sites for filename changes, and our commitment to our clients, there is not another company on the planet that can do this better. |

Meh, I've been using Netload and Rapidgator leech sites more than usenet recently anyway.
NZBMatrix had become tiresome long ago thanks to the influx of usenet noobs. I often couldn't tell if they were trolling or just genuinely had no idea wtf they were doing.
