That I weight train but I havent touched anything of the sort for over a year or even done any real physical exercise thats got me out of breath but bear in mind that Ive been coming here for 2 years or more? so it was true back then! Razz

Anyway I have recently started back up (been training about 3 weeks now 4-5 times a week) I have a little dilemma.

I have developed a small belly now I'm not a huge person I weigh around 74Kg and around 5'9? or 5'8? but I'm wondering what I should do? should I start running again to lose the belly and improve my cardio? or should I use the fat on the belly to develop muscle.

I want to develop the physique I used to have back then with the added benefit of the fitness ( used to run 4 miles without too much pain and was toned without being overly huge)

I'm sure some of you here do weights so I would love you to share your stories

Whats brought this on? well I'm tired of being on the Computer playing online games because i know I have wasted away many years for nothing and now I want to change all of that its a nasty habit and I want sort myself out....besides I'll be going on holiday soon so want to look good for the ladies.

I too had a great physiqe once.. But that ended as soon as I really got into real hardcore PC gaming... Very Happy
Well not ended totally, have still been training a little now and then to keep up atleast a little bit.

FYI I am about 1.95m and weighs in at about 96kg. So pretty normally built, not fat and not overly big-muscles-boy either...

I suggest running as a good basic condition is the best thing to have, better than any big muscle and will make you last longer when getting older too..

PS. I do not see playing games as waste of time, I will still do it no matter what Very Happy DS.

Well since ive started being a geek ive turned skinny. Since going boxing though my muscles have come back surprisingly quickly though and im not as fit as i used to be but i'm getting better. If I was you i'd go for cardio vascular stuff such as running and swimming, or take a martial art and ur muscles will grow progressively to fit your physique.

Im in good shape still, but if u guys want I recommend a workout routine (no weights, weights aren't really all that good, better to be normal size and hard as stone than huge, soft and slow ya know?) if you guys want? Calestetics (spelling?) and natural muscle building shit
It was developed the Kwan Ja Nim based on shit he read and stuff I guess...like u have to get ur heart rate to a certain level, before u can lose fat, then another level before u can build muscle..."warming" up for 15mins before weight lifting DOES war more damage than not even warming up at all, doesnt make sense but its true, least for me

Anyway, if u do it, 1 1/2 at a time for the workout, maybe 4 days a week (u can do 7 still - not like weights where u need to waiting a day so ur muscles recover and u can actually build them), in a month, ur arms, back, lats, delts, quads etc will be ripped and u will have a six pack, for sure.
I do the workout 5 days a week (not on weekends)

Yeah give me that routine, I mostly keep jogging a few times a week (3-4), and walks the dog daily...

Anyways, I work out but I have not been in the gym for a good 3, 4 weeks because I was on vacation. I have been swimming there everday though. I always do 30 sit ups and 15 push ups by default in the morning for maintenance.

Running is what gets rid of my belly, if I've been lazy enough to get one. None of that outside running crap either, it's bad for your joints. Use a treadmill.

You should not underestimate it, I do it, not 3 times a week not 4, 5 times I do it everyday, everyday throughout the year, when I am drunk, hung over, sick I don't care. If you would do that for 1 year, just 1 year every morning you wake up, 12 small months of your life you will have real nice abs, nice triceps and a hard chest.

I used to do about 60 push ups every morning and about 150 sit ups, if you can manage that every morning of your life you will become a terminator, but It's mentally really hard to get yourself to do that though, every morning getting up and then getting fucked up physically. I did that for like 2 months, you will see the results real fast but like I said, not easy.

I want to make it the proper way afterall everything is a challenge.

I've probably lost -6 cool rating from some of you now but I care less Very Happy

I did some press ups yesterday and managed 47 before collapsing like a rag doll Sad my fitness needs help badly.

I also think that Pizda2 has the right idea, small amount of training is easy to get into and will show result after a period of time.
