Am i just getting old? or too picky, or such?
I can never get excited or into all these new 2d flash/vector looking indie games.
Seems its the new trend for games lately, and I know indie devs cant be pumping out fully fleshed out 3d games with all the visuals and eye candy.
But i see a new post for a game and go "ooh that sounds like an interesting title" to click on it and go "oh its one of those popcap 2d looking indie games "
And I know also because its an indie title, they have to start somewhere, and these games are a great way to do it, since they can put more time into gameplay than visuals with their limited staff.
Maybe its my age, and being around when everyone was an 'startup indie' company. And still expect 'out of no where small time guys' to make games like Doom, heretic, duke nukem 3d..etc was back in the day.

I don't mind some games going retro style or old style. But when it's used as the only gimmick (the majority out there lately) I just go "Meh" and click away.
But typical for any industry: hop on the hypewagon!

It depends from a person to person I guess... I never could get into the Minecraft hype, or that meat guy game :\
Truth to be told I don't game much as I used to. I do have AC3 in my sights tho...

i think the lack of gameplay is what turns me off lately, too much focus on being interactive movie.

All the games are the same now. There is no real innovation and if they do innovate they do it in a wrong way, to stupify game play and make it more linear or easier, stories are chewed up and bland. I still play old dos games and sometimes, i start a zx, c64 or amiga emulator. ZX spectrum computer of my youth. Its amazing what could be done with 48k when programmers were doing it because they loved creating games. Those were the days. Local student radio station, played games so people could try them, all that bleeping, good memories.
