I was reading about Dota 2 after playing it a while, and i saw people atacking and moving and atacking again.
Seems like this is called Atack Cancelling or something.
It means that the atack animation takes for ex: 2 seconds, and the actual hit happens at 1.2 secs. so if u wait 1.2 sec and u hit and u move, u canceled the rest of the animation and u can restart the animation from 0 to 1.2 and atack faster.
This is a "skill" needed for chasing and other stuff...
Really? Isnt this supposed to be a what would be called a glitch? Like those tricks in Ultima Online about atacking animations. This isnt a skill, this is a programming stupidity, it shouldnt work like that, but people like it because if they can exploit it correctly, its a skill.
Dota 2 feels very dull and unpolished, maybe it was a fan dedication because the whole figthing feels dull, boring (not in that sense exactly but while i played it i felt like meh.. ok... ult, did i kill him? did i hit? oh hes dead? wao... ok...), And some techniques are like glitches or exploits that have remained because in Dota 1, like glitches that people liked exploiting, and since it worked well dont change it. But as a game when u compare it to LoL, LoL feels better, figthing feels better and the gameplay is more satisfing.
Maybe it has more depth, and the mechanics more complex.... but fuck i was bored and i sense a lack of impact on the battles.
Oh well... back to LoL, after i fix the fucking crashes that im getting after updating that shit.

Animation canceling is a common mechanic in many different games: fighting, hack and slash, rpgs. I used to play a multiplayer tps game called Gunz that had a whole emergent style of play based on melee attack cancels
What in the fucking world did i just see...... Dwarf Fortress makes more sense. LOL i dislike these "skills" based on glitches of the game, no sense in that. Back to pure skills on calculations and zero tricksters.

Don`t worry - DotA has a very steep learning curve - frustrating at the beginning, ridiculous after some time, like an asshole later on - but very satisfying in the end
Its just that the game sometimes thigns happen and u dont even feel like they did, like atacks have no impact, no information, i dont know how to express it but i will continue playing it, thought i dislike that thing about the atack animation and i dont think it works in lol, i tried it and the atack after being canceled restarts after the proper time.
