my first experience --- made character, left base, got killed some a-hole.
second character - made character, walked about 2 blocks, killed by player
whats the point of even playing this ?

That was pretty much my experience too.
Create char, spend 45 mins searching for something other than a flashlight, listen to people begging for items in chat, get sniped. Rinse, repeat, get bored, uninstall.

Switching to high does help a bit, it's higher now. About the same you get. But still doesn't help that the game is just... bad :/

I managed to find a bunch of food and drinks, as well as a friggin' assault rifle in a car workshop --- then I got close to a ranger station and bam. Sniped. Pfft.

I got raped 4 times, didnt even looted a single item.
Everytime, bam sniped.
This is nothing compared to DayZ, the map is waaaaaaaaay to small with so many players.
Like, camping the first few city's is a guarantee you will have some pvp action, because every fresh player will goto those towns.
I dont know yet, it just feels off.
Maybe I gotta play a bit more, but this is more frustating, then fun for me at the moment.

Played it a few weeks ago, total shit got a refund.
Tried it last night again, still total shit.
So glad I didn't stick around and got a refund when I did.
It's DayZ + namalsk unroll next month, then its standalone DayZ for me.

I really love this game so far. I've not played a game as intense as this in a long time. I just can't wait to see there be missions and more to it than simply survival and PVP. I want to see choices, whether or not you kill someone, actually play more of a role in the way things work. Not sure if this will actually happen, but I hope they add some extra depth and make it more than just looting and killing everyone you run in to.
I really didn't know if I'd like this type of game all that much, but I must say I'm pretty addicted already. Once you get a little bit of a stash and have some melee weapons at least and aren't running around naked and unarmed, it's much more enjoyable. Knowing that death means you lose everything you have, at least if you don't have friends who are able to eliminate your opponents and grab all your stuff, this game is super intense. For $20 though on the 48 hour sale, I'm glad I picked it up. I feel I already got my money's worth out of it and it's still just alpha. And seeing as how you lose anything you get when you die, I really can't see needing to spend money unless having a stronghold is that advantageous. After playing Deadlight and The Walking Dead, this keeps me right on trying to survive the zombie apocalypse!

Quote: | WarZ is a direct port over from War Inc.
According to Devin, the developers “literally took the game and added NPCs, made a large map, and changed around camera angles and gun settings while adding more functionality and switching over some things. ALL ART however was actually done in-house by their amazing ART team. (Those were the best guys to know, they were in touch more with the community than Kewk)”
The developers ban accounts of players they know will pay again
“They randomly ban accounts that have a certain amount of time spent playing in-game, knowing they are hooked on the game so they re-buy the game.”
The majority of the games player base is hacking
The former War Z mod states that the games anti-hack is actually functional, however an “extremely large portion” of the player base is hacking. He went on to say that if Hammerpoint banned everyone, “they’d have a mass refund issue on their hands”
If The War Z isn’t profitable in 6 months, they’ll abandon it
Devin states that Hammerpoint plan to “halt development and abandon the game in six months if “revenue is not enough for them”. The former mod states that they already have enough revenue to pay for the game development for over a year, but if they don’t earn enough to give themselves regular raises, they will stop making the game and shut down the servers and website. |
What a mess.

I feel bad for anyone who bought it, the whole thing was an obvious cash grab trying to capitalize on the success of Day Z.
