Development Directr Andy Garton:
A certain large German manufacturer (it's not Porsche, and I won't say who so don't bother guessing) actually contacted us today to ask if we'd like some of their cars in the game, so the tide could be turning

(No doubt their next step will be to tell us how much we have to pay, but still!)

Ruf is done (we should probably mention that at some point), but that's not the large manufacturer I was referring to.

Arse, too much beer. I'll be fired tomorrow but "done" as in license signed for 1987 CTR "Yellowbird", 2012 CTR3, 2012 Rt 12R and the 2012 RGT-8.

You still have to add -seta launch parameter to test the new tire physic model.

If you are using DX11 add -dx11 -seta parameters @ the launcher shortcut.
You will then be able to switch beetween modes with the launcher dropdown box Wink

Be aware that seta model is for now optimised for the FA only, you still can try it with other cars but it can be "messy".
All I can say about seta for now, is : it can surprise at first but after some laps : Holly hell ! It is damn good and you will never come back to the standart tyre model.
Smile

I'm glad to read that they finally introduced the new tire model, judging from the comments at Virtualir seems that it's indeed pretty awesome. Razz

So is this game playable with a cheap PS2-like controller? Anyone has good settings?

I know, this is the kind of game you should use a wheel etc. for but I really dont want to invest in that kind of thing right now.

A good PS2 controller clone would be ok, as the shoulder buttons on them are analog. But if it's a very cheap knockoff, then those buttons will probably be digital and that'll destroy everything Sad

Going in a corner, short and soft left movement then a fast right movement and slightly increasing the acceleration ... aaah a nice drift. With digital or interpolated acceleration you won't experience this properly.

Guys is it convenient to grab a Junior subscription or is it better to head directly to the Team Member's one? Sadly I can't afford more since I got paid today and have already spent almost all the money in taxes, videogames and booze. Crying or Very sad Laughing

I guess EA would pull a muscle once more and block official Porsche support. I really hope pCARS is moddable so we can have our Shift 2 stock quickly converted.

I understand your situation..
..last time i went to Italy (february, this year), i went to this football fans pub in Milano. Glass of beer (guiness, fosters) was 5 euros. Here, in Serbia, you can get waisted for 5 euros easily.. Very Happy

Aaaaanyway, right now, i'd say go for the Team Member. You get access to MP and all the cars and tracks, and, you'll get weekly, or even daily patches as it's the current situation..

That's not too bad, in some places with 5€ you get only an aperitif Razz

The MP is definitely a big plus for the TM..argh. I'm torned grinhurt. Will wait some days too see how things go financially wise (bad I presume Laughing , but I'm used to that). *goes building a budget worksheet*

This.
But it is even more complex, unfortunately.
Still, anything is possible though. Wink

I'm not just making this up - Porsche have said this to us directly. The "problem" in their case (and similar companies), is that they're huge, it's not just one person making licensing decisions, or even one team - loads of people have an input, not least marketing (which is probably thousands of people in the VW group). Some of those people don't see the longer term benefits, only their next quarterly results

Things move and change very very slowly, but it's going in the right direction at least.

even enduracers' porsche cup mod (rfactor) got cancelled thanks to porsche.... lame!

and renaming the porsche to porker doesnt help cause even the shape of the cars in a game is disallowed. :/
