Nope. I refuse to ever "serve" in our military for some broke ass agenda not of my own. I could get more into it but im not going to turn this into a political thread. I don't believe invading another country and calling it a "war on ____" is very bright when the U.S. calls it terrorism when it happens to them and goes invading everyone and stomping on them.
I don't use my firearms for violent purpose. Shotguns for trap shooting:
Everything else to go to the range. I like the training and skill aspect of it. Shooting a pistol is the hardest god damn thing to do. So many variables you have to take into account.

I used militia to refer to some kind of civil armed organisation that trains with weapons, because many think that a civil war is coming (or some other kind of major disaster).
Oh! No none of that. I mean a civil war could happen, something bad could always happen. I just do it because it's fun. I have a lot of friends who are terrified of guns and rightfully so, they're dangerous, so I'll take them out to the range, train them in the proper use and safety then I'll work with them on stance and so forth.
I know quite a few people who don't see the fun or point in it, once you take them out, they're calling again in a week asking if you'll take them to the range again lol..

Same here Spykez. Gotta prepare for the zombie apocalypse!
Pistols are damn tough to get good with, and like you, I totally appreciate the skill aspect behind shooting. It's a great hobby and you don't need multiple people to compete. Yourself is your biggest adversary.
+1 for Italian made weapons as well. I have a Beretta 90-two in 9mm and a CX4 Storm for my plinking fun. The Storm is an absolute blast to shoot. Very accurate and easy to shoot as well.
My other favorite gun would have to be my Springfield 1911 Tactical. .45 packs a punch for sure.
I REALLY want to get my hands on the Beretta ARX-160 but the damn thing is taking forever to come out. I actually would love to get the .22LR version just cuz the ammo is so damn cheap I could shoot all day for like $20 .
I owned a .50 Barrett M82A1. My pic with me standing next to it is in that other thread with pics of ourselves. Awesome weapon. Wish I didn't sell it .

Eeehh I don't really like Berettas all that much. I think they're clunky as hell. Granted the Storm does look nice. I won't buy one personally because Beretta was actually here at a Gander Mountain to showcase some new gun they had and someone had just bought a Beretta 92 and the slide ripped off the frame after a few shots. Beretta wouldn't even offer the guy any help, just put their noses in the air and continued on marketing their new gun.
They do make awesome shotguns though. The Beretta Extrema is frekaing ace. The action on the bolt is so buttery smooth you'd almost wonder if it even worked.
Ick, bad PR move for sure. I will admit that not every Beretta weapon I fired was good (there was one 92 series that royally sucked), but I personally shoot well with them so I like them because of that. I've not had any issues with the two models I mentioned above though, so I'm happy for that for sure.
My loyalty is limited to Beretta in the sense that if I shoot a new make/model and it feels good and shoots good (for me), I'd switch . In the end, if you can't hit your target, it's nothing but a glorified "pop" gun.
I went with a Remington 870 for the shotty. I couldn't afford a Benelli at the time but if I could, I would have gone with that one. I'm not dissatisfied with the 870 though, it's still decent shotty.

That's something people don't understand, is if it fits in your hand, that should be the biggest selling point to anyone buying a firearm. I always tell people to worry about everything else AFTER they hold the gun to see how it sits in their hands, after that, then worry about how the trigger pulls etc etc.
870's are good shotguns if you get an older model. You could have gotten a Benelli Nova or Super Nova for the same price as an 870. Unfortunately I won't ever buy another Remington product if it's a newer made model. They're just mass produced garbage now days. I've seen their facility where the 11-87's and 870's are made, it's down to a couple minutes to put a shotgun together to send it out the door. Benelli takes all day to make sure theres are in working order. They may cost more but well worth the price.
Nice thing about the 870's and Mossburg 500's....the amount of aftermarket equipment there is for them.
If you have an 870 stock that came with it, look into buying the Blackhawk Knoxx stock for them. They absorb so much recoil it's insane.
Nice. I will definitely look into buying that stock. I've fired enough 3" slugs in my time to know that the more the gun can absorb, the better . I snapped my clavicle in half on the same shoulder that I use to brace the rifles so it makes sense to get something a bit easier on me hehe.
It was a long time ago, but still...
