Ubisoft has announced that they’ll be releasing a Minecraft inspired Far Cry 3 universe free for download on PC, on October 26th. The pack will allow players to explore and survive the Minecraft experience through the warped lens of Far Cry 3, with modifications to all aspects of the original game, including environments, weapons and tools.
PC gamers will be able to discover key Far Cry 3 locations and characters, including Vaas, Jason and Citra, all completely redesigned in Minecraft style. Furthermore, the map will feature over 50 Easter Eggs, hidden throughout the Islands.
The map has been modded by Michael Lambert, creator of Newcraft City, and artists Axel Janssen and Yohann Delcourt. The entire package will be available for free on the official Far Cry 3 website on October 26. The mod will only work for the PC version of Minecraft, though there's no reason it shouldn't work for the Mac version of the game.
Some small other detail not in the DSO article, basically the creators of this little package.
(And yes it's a Minecraft mod/world.)
The fuck, so it is a mod for Minecraft?
Completely different from what I understood in that DSOGaming article. I understood something standalone that is inspired by Minecraft.

Well those pictures on the DSOG site sure aren't helping to clarify things.
This and this! See? That's why I was confused.. the wording sounded like a standalone thing and then the screenshots on the article just confused the issue even more
I hope the fucking bloom can be turned off. That is just horrifying. The AI seems horrible again at least, so that's disappointing
Also, DEY SO FUNNY -> "He hears the Call of Duty and sees an opportunity for a Medal of Honor so he heads out into the Battlefield to try and resolve the Crysis in Uncharted territory. And it's kind of a Borderl..." SO FUNNY!
Far Cry 2 had this really useful command console where you could tweak and adjust a variety of settings initially, then came the first patch and the ones after and more and more of these commands were restricted, by the end you only had some few basic commands to adjust.
(It also had some hidden cheat mode but it wasn't really useful for tweaking the game.)
OOOhhh man, Ive just seen the new video for FC3 and I can't believe they are demoing the game on a consol with a controller HAHAHA, I noticed the slow and clunky movement right away and said to myself ''are they really playing with a controller for the video, that's the best they could do ? this to me says a lot, Ill be ready to skip this dumb ass consol port ! FC1 will still be better than this stupid consol game.
The only things that I didn't like in he video are the invasive consolish hud, low fow and glaring bloom, but if everything goes as planned and Ubi don't troll us as usual () it will be possible to disable/tweak them. Other than that it looks really damn solid.
All the characters shown so far have something unique that makes them intriguing, I kinda appreciate Ubi's efforts to make this game stand out from the crowd of military generic boreness. Maybe I'm wrong and they'll be obnoxious, but still
