Maybe the new RE6 is a coop movie between Michael Bay and John Woo and we didn't get it at first. We've made the mistake to believe that RE6 might be a survival horror game... Oh wait, RE6 it's not a game....
It is kind of funny (and sad) that the movies got the hammer because they strayed away and became more action with Milla posing in slowmo dressed in tight leather suits (I don't mind the later). Now it seem that the games got inspired by the movies, that in the first place got inspired by the game. One can only hope now that when the games became action, maybe the movies becomes horror??
Sad. I thought they were going to make a RE4 kind of game. I guess they'll run this franchise into the ground and then do a reboot, market it as a "return to its roots" and probably fail at that too.

I guess the RE5 sales are much higher now but it was the only (proper?) RE game released this gen, a RE game in the same vein as the originals would still have sold by the millions
The initial RE games with the prerendered backgrounds were the best. The atmosphere always looked epic even on a PS1. RE5 was the first RE game I liked that didn't have the prerendered backgrounds. I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed it. My favorite though are still RE2 and RE3 Nemesis
RE: Code Veronica for Dreamcast was the first RE I played that was in 3D and I really disliked it. The atmosphere in that game, on a newer console, looked worse than in RE3 Nemesis for PS1

I tried the PS3/360 version and I thought the game was quite good. Showing screenshots about the worst textures of the game, and not in motion really doesn't do justice to the game, not even speaking about the fact the PC version could have better textures.
Most people that liked RE5 will love it for sure, the game is a lot better than RE5 IMO.
I myself didn't like RE5 that much to begin with, thought it was too different than the old RE games...
Of course it can look better than that. But it also can look that ^ bad.

well i dont like the direction game has gone too.. a Gears of evil? how can people that grew up with the first games like this... it doesnt feel much RE anymore which is sad and it still sells so good
Weak excuse but I guess people will consider it OK anyway, probably it's some authentication file or account key similar to the Steam pre-order bonuses that are often combined with the base game.
I love how Crapcom claims the actual CONTENT isn't on the disk, yet the videos prove otherwise. Oh and I'm being sarcastic. I don't love it at all. I think it's fucking detestable and the company should be reprimanded for it.
I once had an argument with someone on youtube (yes, I know) about similar things. He said it is ok because publishers will make a lot more money and will make even better games in the future. Maybe with this RE7 will be the best of the franchise?

I used to think like him, then the reality of things made me realize that it's time to stop dreaming and accept the fact that we'll never have old-school survival horror games again. (at least from Capcom)
