I have always been intrigued by OCZ Revodrive series for years. But I wouldn't look twice at it due to the insane prices. However, recently the price on Revodrives have declined. Some Revodrive 3 (Not the Revodrive 3 X2) drives actually sell for the same price as a regular SATA III SSD.

So what do you guys think?

I thought I read somewhere that OCZ makes some of the not so awesome SSD drives. That you could get better elsewhere.

I was thinking about picking one up eventually to test it out.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227745

120gb for $180 and speeds seem nice 975 MBs/875 MBs

There are also RecoDrive X2 that can achieve up too 740MBs/ 720MBs
$220 for 240gb model

I might pick one up by end of the year if cash allows

The Revodrive and Revodrive X2 are the first generation revodrives which suffer from problems that first gen SSDs used to have such as decrease in performance and malfunctioning after a few months of use.

Revodrive 3 and Revodrive 3 X2 are the drives we should be looking at now. The Revodrive 3 X2 performance looks insane but so does the price. That only leaves us with Revodrive 3 as a possible alternative to SATA III SSDs

If you intend to use it as a system drive make sure your system can boot off an PCI-E slot.

I'm using a Revodrive 3 X2. Blazing fast. I bought it november last year, but it broke may this year - it suddenly wouldn't post had to send it back to manufacturer.
So I'm using a new one now of the same model still blazing fast.
This is the 240gb model.
