Topic says it all, I'm modding a game and I'm in need of gory sound effects, blood hitting surfaces, pain cries, blunt impacts, sharp impacts etc.
Maybe there are good sites or communities with freely available sound effects. (I couldnt find any )
Can somebody help me? Does such a myth-enshrouded place even exist on the Internet?
and here a little a rant about the regular (non-free) SFX:
Stock audio is a huge business it seems, people are making money with fart sounds this is ridiculous. 3$ for a fart! Well where there is demand...we know the rest.
I dont give even the tiniest shit about this royalty free poop and other peoples monetary claims and I'm sure there is an equally huge shadow network of sites offering "pirated" quality sfx that you would otherwise need to pay for. Really, I'm so pissed off after getting lured from one disguised pay-site to another I would love to outright see these links posted here for everyone to see and share but I guess its against the rules.
you should google for sfx libraries and download them illegally.
Most sounds are made by slapping the skin with ketchup on it, jerking off, wrapping certain things, slapping a water melon. I think it'd do you a great service if you did all the sfx yourself.
Yeah I thought about doing some SFX myself, just for the fun of it, but I have no microphone.
And getting all that stuff costs time and money and what I'm doing is just a small "enhancement" of game sounds that are already there, its not worth the trouble. (most of all I need sounds of liquids spilling on the floor)

its a conspiracy! the "royalty free" stock sound mafia has taken over the interwebs, there are no free sfx. the cake is a lie!
