It's nice to see motion capture at work, and all the stages of an animation being put into the game. Talking about motion capture though, nothing has impressed me as much as L.A. Noire as of today. I know their animations were only impressive as far as facial expressions were concerned (that was the main point of the game), but man were they THAT MUCH awesome.

Grab a couple of beers and head over to OS to read the comments about the leaked NBA Live 13 gameplay video.Hilarious is not enough to describe it.One post from there:

Here lay NBA Live. You've brought us plenty of joy and good times, but in the past 8 years you have mostly brought us pain and suffering (and some laughter at your own expense, but that's besides the point). Shall you ever somehow rise out of this here deathbed, we pray you come back as the Live we all know and love and not what you have now become. But in the meantime, we shall lay you to rest with your Lord and not-so-Savior Jesus Bynum looking down upon you.

RIP NBA Live.

Sorry to comment about this a bit late,

NBA Live 2000 on PC was very good for the time. I put hours and hours on it competing against my cousins and also playing seasons. Sadly they couldn't keep with the times and technology (and 2K Sports of course).

During the 2K Live-stream, we managed to capture Kevin Durant's Signature Skills for NBA 2K13. As Ronnie explained, Durant will have the Shot Creator, Microwave, Deadeye, Closer and Finisher Signature Skills. The image also shows a glimpse at what Jay-Z has been working on, as Executive Producer.

The difference between a FINISHER & a CLOSER is:

CLOSER: This player raises his game in clutch moments.
FINISHER: This player is adept at finishing contact layups and dunks at a higher rate than others.

More details in the Dev writeup (and video) coming Sunday via the Live-stream.

Can't wait for these, I loved signature skills in FIFA like outside bomber, dribbler, speedster.

I would go for a small player that's a 'finisher' and does a lot of layups, like Iverson.

2K Sports has just released the written breakdown of all 31 NBA 2K13 Signature Skills.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=EeWSuyoMdFw

http://2ksports.tumblr.com/

Q: Why create these Signature Skills for 2K13 when you already have several attributes in 2K12?

A: We felt that our existing attribute and tendency system quite didn’t lend itself well enough to various situational moments that happen in basketball, nor did it help identify very specialized players. Outlet passes, winning charge calls, staying hot through in-game breaks, etc, are just a few areas where our attributes system failed to give you what you need. We’re now able to dig deeper into these situations to allow players stand out where they’re most known. Let’s take shot blocking for example. LeBron James is well-known as the best chase down blocker in the league. In 2K12, when you were in a chase down situation, LeBron was unable to block the shot from behind as much as we’d like him to because he had only a 60-ish Block attribute. With the inclusion of the new Sig Skill, Chase Down Artist, we’re now able to give him the types of skills he needs to embarrass the unsuspecting shooter, without having to artificially raise his Block attribute (which would then allow him to block shots in areas he’s not known for). There are reasons like this for every skill created, which is why we’re bringing this feature to you for NBA 2K13.

Damn, Brick Wall looks nasty, can't wait Very Happy

I've put in countless hours on NBA 2K9 - 2K12.. but damn, how about some working multiplayer? These signature moves look awesome and will add more to what is already the greatest sports game series ever IMO, but I want to play with or against other people. IF they could get that right, I'd buy it in an instant.

Yeah after hours and hours even the most unpredictable AI starts to show its obvious patterns, it's inevitable Very Happy. The PC version has always had something broken (with the MP part being nonfunctional since forever), I guess it's the price to pay for being stepchilds. Laughing

What about not using the console lighting on the PC? Laughing

As we all know, PC just can't handle the awesome console GPU power to render that sweat. Laughing

It's a very elaborate algorithm, only the 10% of the PCs can handle it! Laughing

MyPlayer is now called MyCareer, you can design shoes, pick clothes for the game, press conf., there is some 'fake twitter' thingy like social media were fans tell you what they think of you as a player, you can talk to your GM about playing time and other team related stuff, new billboards, pre-game rituals I guess you can pick your own. Video coming next week.

No word on MyCareer sliders but on the pc you can have sliders via tsearch anyway.

You can preorder via Amazon DD by using the "fool Amazon into thinking you're in the US" trick.
