- First of all this guy is asshole and troll... but sometimes he is making good point.
You know what the funny thing is?
Syndicate is best game of the ones shown in that video

Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
I'm genuinely not surprised about this, it's clear by now that according to EA co-op from the couch, browser games, online only and pay to win are the future.
Inb4 "we have a huge announcement for hardcore gamers!: System Shock 3 with cover system and shaped up as awesome dramatic brofist experience"

Yes, big is good. Moar big!
Here is a big pile of shit so it must be good
And if you make it bigger, it just becomes better!
"I still passionately believe in single-player games and think we should build them," Gibeau continued. "What I was trying to suggest with my comments was that as we move our company from being a packaged goods, fire-and-forget business to a digital business that has a service component to it. That's business-speak for 'I want to have a business that's alive and evolves and changes over time.'"
First came the "steam is baed, we don't do heavy discounts like they do- wait, turns out that we do", now this...
Poor guy, I wonder if he has any feet left after so many bullets

Well it has nothing to do with SP vs. MP, the industry is currently in a greed-induced shift.
And this is - as Gibeau put it - transforming the whole media business into a huge service model that requires the "consumer" to constantly pay for a stream of content.
It just so happens that these service models work better in a social and multiplayer environment and thats why we see an increasing number of those games.
Quote:
"We are very proud of the way EA evolved with consumers.", Gibeau explained.
Notice the spinning, he damn well knows they are the ones guiding the direction in which the consumers are supposed to (d)evolve.
Oh and I guess they completely revamped the PS2 release this year. It's the Wii - what do they expect? EA to make miracles? Not that current consoles are different, but there is more headroom than the Wii or Vita.

They're still charging full price for it though. Full price for the same game they sold the year before, only this time there's a roster update to bring the game to the current season of players and teams.
I agree that sport games in general, no matter the platform, should not cost full price, as they are extremely incremental and cost much less than developing content and possibly engine for a new game or even a sequel.
But people who are ready to pay that full price should have realistic expectations of what their platform of choice can offer. What did people expect, for the Wii version to suddenly have the 360 animation system?

I don't disagree on any one point, I still think this is a dick move to simply repackage last year's game and add this year's roster, selling for the same triple A price.
