GaymerCon is the first gaming and geek lifestyle convention with a focus on LGBT culture.
On August 3 & 4th, 2013, we will gather together to create a fun, exciting weekend of gaming, geek culture, tech talk, development, and even some partying. GaymerCon is open to all and we hope to make an experience that will be meaningful as well as exceptionally exciting and fascinating.
Gaming is a common shared experience that helps us escape, educates us and helps to define who we are and want to be. Gay, Black, Latino, Lesbian, Asian, Kinksters, Women, Transgender, Bi, Nuns, Swedes, Hipsters, Browncoats, Trekkies, Xbots, Robots, Holograms, Dwarves, Lawyers and Monsters #everyonegames

See, this kinda bothers me, because the more and more you put this separate events, you are making it look like lgbt crowd is a subspecies of human beings and that we are 'special' -.-"

Still sad that gay people have to have their own conventions for this, apparently they don't feel as if other gaming conventions welcome them :/
Well or it's easier to find a partner for sex if you don't have to ask if he is into your gender in the first place

I mirror the thoughts here, I think its a totally ridiculous reaction to a problem which I don't believe exists.
I would consider the geek/gaming "subculture" to be one of the most welcoming in the world and I couldn't even begin to imagine the LGBT crowd not being accepted without consideration.

Indeed.. you're completely right, there's really no point in this. I don't get the constant desire of alienation, the need to prove yourself different from the "normal" (lol) crowd of gamers, it is a kind of auto-ghettoizing  , bah!  |

Well, transgender ppl are a complete mystery to me xD
But still they are not subspecies. They are human beings who don't identify with the sexual traits they are born with (at least I think :\)
