...IT HIT ME , PS3 has no games... Laughing i mean N3DS ouch and buying it only for Revelations a 6h resident evil game its a waste ....

i know i bought the ps3 only for the Mgs4 but this game can be played forever with its three modes and other games that came where a extra ...

but 3ds damn it hit me ... it simply doesn't have any good games

and no Snake looks better on the HD collection and that Turn based GRAW was crap ...

well checked those 3 games the store clerk nearly killed me i spend like 2h playing this 3ds and after those he though in this Saturn store i will be hyped and pumped to buy one ... but i said "Buying it for only resident ... its not worth the price tag it has now" it was a 950zł bundle with the second analog add-on and resi added

Same goes for VITA no games .... if you count ONE thats Uncharted Laughing

IMO there is little point in handheld consoles these days now that Smartphones have such good games on them. The last handheld that truly was worth having was the GBA. DS was decent, but only because it was right before the time in which smartphones started to have really good games.

PSP was a joke besides using for emulation purposes IMO.

And yes, I don't see the point of the 3DS. I guess it's good for young kids though who you don't want smashing a $800 iPad 3.

All of that being said; I'd pay good fucking money for a 'Nintendo Phone' that had like a Nintendo app store filled with the entire GBA library. Or better yet, if Nintendo were smart, they'd develop an emulator app for the iOS and Android marketplace that let people buy GBA games as in-app purchases.

smartphones no doubt are becoming way more powerful and have high resolution displays compared to 3DS, but the biggest turn off is the touchscreen.....

Ill stick with the open source based handhelds like the GP2X, Dingoo and Pandora. Most handhelds have emulators for them anyways so get a one of the above opensourced ones and you have yourself a handheld.

Or just buy a GBA with a 512mb flashcart and call it a day.

Seriously, there are so many good fucking GBA games that it isn't even worth getting anything else. The hardware itself has long as shit battery life as well. Shit, even on the GBA itself you can emulate some SNES (Not much point as full fledged GBA ports allready are around for the big titles), megadrive, and just about every 8 bit console.

meh, I'd rather use my GP2X Wiz. 8GB flash drive to hold every GBA game ever as well as the Wiz uses an LED screen that's vibrant as fuck and the battery life is long as hell.

However, the Wiz itself may be a bit more pricey than what you pay for a GBA but, the screen on it alone is worth it.

the last game mario game that i have completed was like ... when did galaxy came out ...dunno but it was a awful game by design , why well they forced you to collect all those stars to see the ending ... real ending ... don't get those , if a game don't pull me in i just can't complete it... and mario became the will smith of the industry ...

The GP2X's have always been massive though. If I really felt like carrying around a SECOND device with me beyond my iPhone, the GBA Micro is small.

As it stands though; there isn't any need to carry around additional gaming devices if you have a smartphone built within the past couple of generations.

There are a hell of a lot of games on both the iOS and Android platforms right now that are 'real' and are way beyond 'flash style games'.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mario Kart 7 (still do) and trying to finish up Super Mario 3D Land before moving onto the second one...

As others have said, I still think there's a space for handhelds. The buttons and sticks are still powerful input mechanisms.

They are beyond flash games, but still far from a MGS HD Collection for example...

3D land is awesome. nsmb2 is good too. great level design. kid icarus is great too but control is a bit quirky and you have to get used to it. kingdom hearts is just awesome fun. and dat zelda remake is mmmm purdy.

3DS is a great little system.

If you're an old, old school RPG lover .. you positively HAVE to get the Etrian Odyssey titles Smile They play out like the classic Wizardry games -- three of them on NDS and the fourth is on 3DS. Oh and, in a similar vein, The Dark Spire and Infinite Space too. Don't forget classics like Ocarina of Time, Star Fox and Cave Story.

I really want Final Fantasy Theatrhythm but damned if I'm buying a 3DS for it Sad

I'd love to sit side by side, with me playing Super Mario 3 on my PSP while you play it on a touch phone

There's no comparison, it's like everyone thinks of using that as an argument while completely disregarding the control scheme

When trying to do combos on the iPhone version of SFIV... half of the 'game' is hoping that the combo actually registers properly. Touch sucks for anything complicated. It's great for puzzles, tower defence, card games and that sort of thing... but nothing that requires you to constantly press different on screen buttons or look around in a 3D world

You should never have to fight the controls, if a game comes out and this ends up happening, they're doing it wrong

Something like this would be pretty cool:

But I can't imagine leaving the house with it

Ok.

In the end most of us don't feel like carrying around a second device anymore. Unless you are talking about just sitting around at home playing on a handheld device. Which doesn't even make sense. If i'm at home i'm on my computer playing a game.

I played them (Bard's Tale was my first RPG) and it was "acceptable" back then, but I was extremely happy when Ultima Underworld arrived and took it to a whole new level, i've never looked back since Very Happy

Cave story seems kind of cool, might look into that one Smile Thanks. I have Zelda: OoT, it's great.
