just grabbed the skid version, the second i press launch game from the launcher i get a stopped working error, nice.

nvm turns out AVg was fucking me over
now I get into the freeroam part go to rhino and the game freezes, the sound carries on but the screen freezes anyone else?

But I haven't heard of the game updating other than that earlier patch when it was "accidentally" released or what it was, either it'll be fixed now (Unless that update sorted out the major problems.) or they'll just release it as-is, guess we'll see soon.

I think its just finally steam digital release NA(today), Europe(tomorrow) probably coming with some PATCH included to released retail version.
Alongside with some DLC (i think they was PS3 exlusive before) available today for both NA and Euroe:

Those DLCs don't even worth $1, Lame attempt to cut them off the game and sell them separately.

Just read on cs.rin that they missed the updated files and just included the DLC and exe file but they guy posted those so it's now possible to have the game properly updated.
(GameLogic.dll and two shader related files.)
EDIT: GameLogic.dll looks fine here but the shader files differed greatly.

I'm sure it said my save was corrupt at one point but I restarted and closed steam, it loaded up fine after that.
I've never played a game that crashed so much.

The game looks bad (though it can look good at times), it can crash easily and the performance is far from ideal. Open world concept translates to boring swinging till you reach your destination (from what I've played) because the city is empty. The combat is not nearly as fun as in Batman.
On the other hand the story seems pretty good, I would say better than the film it is based on.
Overall I am pretty disappointed with the execution and I don't think I will finish this.

yep agree with consolitis
Performance on my NTB is pretty bad, on desktop it strangely works fine. (NTB has better specs than desktop, maybe problem with nvidia optimus)
