At Last I have found a use for the Audio Cable comming off my DVDRom Drive (the one that plugs into the motherboard) Very Happy

Instead of playing audio cd's in Windows Media player or Winamp etc hogging up 30% CPU Power and 10mb of Ram You can just hit that nifty Play button on the front of your Drive and it just plays directly through the DVDRom and out down the Audio Cable into your motherboard and uses NO CPU Power or Ram!!!! Very Happy

I used this method since my old Pentium 75.
I've had cd player with play/stop , next/previous button and sound volumne Wink

Yer, that's rather basic Razz

Still, more and more drives are coming without those buttons, nowadays.
Doesn't matter to me, All I do is rip everything anyways Smile

At first when I did it ages ago on my old 450mhz PEntium 3 (When they were in fashion Razz) it never worked, Only worked in the Headphone socket Sad

Plus the Drive manuals didnt mention it playing directly from the Drive, it just said Increases Quality in DVD Movies Sad

ANyway, mainly posted just incase someone else didnt know this Razz hehe
