FOr the last day or 2, every now and then, the sound on my computer halts (I'm always playing music), and I hear a sound that's pretty darn similar to the one of a fan starting again would do. It happens randomy though, so I haven't got to actually see what happens. It happened 4-5 times now.

Recent changes: Recently, I changed the case, I now have a clear sided one, with 1 extra (lighted) fan and a led on the front of the case. That same day, I've also added a new sound card (a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value).

The Power Supply is a cheap 450 watts one, Could 1 80min fan, 2 stupid lights and a sound card overload the system this much?

Hmmm the temperature displayed by this software ("Everest") is considerably higher than the one noted in the bios, I think the CPU fan may be acting up/unplugged, as I've never had any problem with the PSU before and I doubt the small aditional load on it is the problem

EDIT: I've opened the case, everything seems normal. All fans blowing and no weird noise. I've removed the side panel, for now.. The BIOS indicates 39C, while EVEREST still says 53. I've also touched the heatsink, it's not anormally hot. I think Everest is wrong and the temperature is fine

suggestions?

PS: I copy pasted this, from what I posted on another forum. Will keep updated.

I'm guessing 44 for the CPU and 40 for the 'ambienT' ?

On a side note: It hasn't happenend since I opened the case, 20 min ago.

That said it's not very frequent and very random so that tells us nothing Razz

Looks to me like you have some really messed up mobo readings, I would trust what the bios tells you and not what any other application does. So on that note, I would imagine your fine!
