Try to run the game as administrator, otherwise it will always crash on startup.

Why did two of the games I used the injector on stopped working? It happened to Two Worlds II first and now to Risen. The games work just fine without it and they worked fine with it at first. Now Two Worlds II keeps crashing on start and Risen won't start at all.

I have copied dx9 files into folder where executable is and it wont start. even in administrator mode.
Maybe there is a different fxaa version?

Does the exe not start after putting D3D9.dll and what other files (FXAA or SMAA or what else you are using.) if so that might be due to a file placement error, look for log.txt and then place all files where this is located as that's where they are expected due to how the game initiates these files.
(I got that with Serious Sam 3 until I moved the files into the proper folder which turned out to be the root directory.)
EDIT: Ah sorry I'm a bit slow it seems, maybe LIVE is doing some weird crap due to it's many different security methods and ways to avoid tampering with, wouldn't be surprised if it can recognize loader modified files (Ie modified d3d files for injectors.) or some such but it varies per game and I've not encountered a problem with it so far but I've not tried that many LIVE titles either.
(Gears uses a early version though which is probably a bit trickier to deal with, client files can be upgraded but the game still has it's own runtimes of course.)

I guess its a live problem as well. I will try v10 injector (latest version I found) on other games. Gears can just use normal 2xaa with native resolution. It still works 60fps that way, which I am suprosed how my pc handles it in comparison how it worked on the same spec in 2008

So any idea about how to fix this?

No, absolutely nothing. It stopped working from one day to the other and I didn't change anything. I tried reinstalling the plugin, but it's still the same. It's the default one, uploaded by its maker, then configured by me. It worked just fine, I can't understand why it would stop working like this.

Yeah that is strange, perhaps some bug or incompatibility but nothing comes to mind as both games should work without issue when using this type of plugin.
(I used FXAA in Two Worlds 2 and then SMAA when it was available, FXAA in Risen was also used a while ago when I re-played it some time ago.)
I'll see if I can find some other info, shouldn't just stop working like that but I'll see what I can find out.

@DR: have you tried a different version of the plugin out of curiosity? (for example the one adapted for Skyrim). You can disable all the additional effects from the tool and just leave the fxaa enabled

I found the problem, for Risen at least. It's probably the same for TW2. Anyway, I read somewhere while modding Skyrim that the FXAA Injector does have problems with Xfire (and with other programs which I forgot) and if the game doesn't start, closing that might work. It did. I can't understand why though, it worked just fine with Xfire started before.

Try to disable xfire overlay if it helps.

Yeah, it seems that works too. That makes sense now, since the in-game overlay didn't work when I played with the FXAA Injector I think, so that's why it worked back then. Xfire has its weird way of suddenly making/stopping the in-game overlay work. Oh well, now I need to install Two Worlds 2 again...

SweetFX 1.0
New:
DirectX10/11 support! (SMAA can't be switched off yet in the DX10/11 version)
Like with InjectSMAAmod (which SweetFX can now completely replace) you do not need to decide what version you need to use. Just copy all the files into the game folder and the game will load the correct one.
Changes and improvements to the Sepia, Tonemap and Vignette shaders.
Tweaks to the default settings of SMAA, HDR, Sepia, Tonemap and Vignette.
New setting for Vignette - VignetteSlope. It determines the distance from the center to when the vignette starts fading to black. You need to balance the VignetteRadius setting with this setting. Typically when you increase VignetteSlope you need to decrease VignetteRadius.
New shader effect - Vibrance. It should work like Digital Vibrance in your drivers settings and increase the saturation more for colors that are weak and less for colors that are already strong. It needs more work though. Currently I think it increases saturation for weak colors and decreases it for strong colors. It's still a nice effect - it's just not what I was trying to achieve. Bug or feature? - you decide.
Different keymapping. INSERT now toggles SweetFX ON and OFF and DELETE reloads the shader files. Using the pause button was annoying in some games because it also paused the game - Insert should not do that. Few games use the Insert button so I doub't it will cause any conflicts.
Using delete to reload the shader files is very useful when tweaking a game running in windowed mode. It makes tweaking much easier. I've updated the tweaking instructions in the SweetFX_readme with a new guide on how to easily tweak your settings.
The injector.ini file now also includes a link to a webpage listing all the keycodes so you don't have to guess should you wish to remap your keys.
Shortcomings of SweetFX 1.0:
SMAA can't be turned off in DX10/11 (most people will want this on, so it's not a big problem)
LumaSharpen still sharpens the anti-aliased edges. Edges are still smoother than without anti-aliasing but if you want absolutely smooth edges try turning LumaSharpen off. I hope to fix this soonish but no promises - It'll be done when it's done.
The new Vibrance effect doesn't work quite as intended.
I haven't had time to try and optimize the shaders for speed, but now that most things more or less work I might take some time to do that. Again no promises.

Looks interesting...when I have some time I'll try to look into it. (I can't promise anything though, the values are probably completely different )

SweetFX is a universal image improvement and tweaking mod,
that works with almost any DirectX game or application.
It merges 3 such mods - InjectSMAA, FXAATool and my own LumaSharpen into one.
This allows all of the effects to be used with combination with each other.

It is safe to use with Battlefield 3? I know that it doesn't send any network traffic and such, but do PunkBuster check other processes running in operating system background?

Version 1.3
Adds the Lift Gamma Gain shader which lets users adjust brightness and color of shadows, midtones and highlights.
Adds the Curves shader which uses S-curves to adjust the contrast of the image
Adds the Splitscreen shader which makes it easier to do comparison screenshots and videos.
Reversed the DPX blend setting so smaller numbers now mean less effect and not more (it's more logical this way)
Better default DPX settings
More conservative default Vibrance settings (down from 0.20 to 0.15)
All settings in the settings file now have ranges. (preperations for an upcomming GUI)
More details after I update the front page and the nexus page.

Key Features :
-----------------
Compatible with 64bits games/apps
FXAA integrated without the need of an external DLL
Effects are separated from SMAA to avoid artefacts (only for DX10/11) *
No more exotic file locations, everything should be dropped in the executable folder of the game/app
Somewhat better compatibility (more games supported) : DX9 all the games that use swapchain::present now work with SweetFX, Farcry3 now works in DX11
Better performance for DX9 (DX11 performance is the same as MrHaandi's)
Better screenshot naming (date & time as part of the filename)
Key mapping fully integrated in the SweetFX_settings.txt file
Source-code, now we have one : )
Known issues :
-----------------
The log file can be stuck trying to write DX9 info when DX10/11 logging should be happening instead
DX10 performance is slightly inferior to MrHaandi's injector
Future developments :
---------------------------
Multipass effects : )
Loading of external d3d9/dxgi DLL should be possible so SweetFX can be used in conjunction with other injectors
You name it
* Don't expect much from this, the difference is subtle but sharpen for instance is calculated on the SMAA'ed image instead of the original untouched/aliased image, resulting in a somewhat smoother look
