Just seeing Jaws go up all over the place but is this the fully remastered one or just a BR rip of an ordinary Jaws?

NFO's not saying either way..

Cheers..

Yep! I'm reasonably sure that this new release is the 100th Anniversary one Smile Example/Proof;

See the restoration? Okay, now here's a screengrab from Jaws.1975.720p.BluRay.X264-AMIABLE;

The 720 AMIABLE rip looks a bit more pale than the YT vid of the remaster, but that could simply be down to it being a rip/reencode. Either way, the video quality throughout is night and day compared to the original.

To be honest though mate, you're probably best off waiting a week until the "official" release date of the Anniversary Edition -- just to be absolutely 100% sure you get the real deal. The 100th Anniversary isn't the only HD release of Jaws -- there was one a while back and this one could just as easily be the same as that, though I'm not sure if that one was official or just someone else's reencode. The NFO states "retail Blu-ray" and there was one about a year back who's source claimed to be a 1080i HDTV original.

Either way - the quality looks great but the Anniversary one could look even better Very Happy

Just downloaded the 1080p release and it appears to be the remastered version or whatever the fuck they want to call it. Looks way better then any other copy i've ever watched before.

Cheers all, I'll wait for whats termed the official one as you say, I've no doubt it is that as the release date is so close but it won't hurt.

I'm also hoping that someone does a really good dvd rip of it, yes I know it sort of takes away the whole point of it being on blu-ray but poor old me only has a crt tv and no blu-ray (obviously) and I didn't realise they were only doing it on blu-ray..

If not I guess I'll have to sit and re-encode it myself Sad

As for the film, a classic and timeless, once the film gets away from the dodgy old suits with anchors on the boat it could have been filmed yesterday.

I saw it in the cinema's at the time of release while on a school holiday to the sea-side, we all went to the cinema, I had my foot on the back of a seat and when the scene where he's checking the underwater hole in the boat and the head comes out I jumped like a loon and kicked the bloke in front of me in the back..

And yeah, like many from my day, after seeing Jaws you always felt a bit worried when swimming in the sea Smile

Well that's the BR launch trailer and now I'm certain the AMIABLE release is from that. The picture quality (re-encode from 1080p BR to 720p x264 taken into consideration) is the same.
