Sorry if there's a thread already I have ran a search and couldnt find it.
WHAT A FUCKING RIP. How can you get away with ripping off Battle Royale toning it down and mass maketing it.
Once again the yanks have succesfully ripped a great idea/movie and ruined it.

you heard/seen the Running Man, right? or not.. you heard of the gladiators in the Collosseum, right? better yet.. Greek mithology..Theseus/minotaur?
looking forward to this movie. maybe we''ll actually get some character development and not just a simple slasher-fest a la Battle Royale.

Read the first book. It was alright, but nothing special. Really expected more... Can't see where the hype comes from. But then again, if I read Twilight I probably couldn't tell why that is popular either...

Why is the Hunger Games being constantly compared to Twilight, if anything, the Hunger Games seems to be strikingly similar (perhaps even somewhat plagiarized) to Battle Royale, the Japanese movie/manga, it hasn't anything to do, either thematically or contextually, with the over hyped teen crap that is Twilight, I sincerely don't get why of all the possible movies/books that this could be compared to, it's being compared to Twilight. I just find it nonsensical.

Thing is that every teen-book that they make a movie off will get compared to Twilight. It's sad though because the movie has nothing similar to Twilight except that it is a teen-book. I saw the trailer for the movie and the girl in the row behind me practicly screamed "This is the new Twilight-movie I was talking about!". I think the makers wants it to BE the new Twilight in the sense that targeting the same audience.
