Yeah it sucks, can ruin your whole day if it gets bad enough. OTC pills won't do shit either when it gets bad, I'd rather have morphine injected under my eyeballs than deal with a major headache. Very Happy

Ibuprofenum in pewder form does the trick for me. Plus, drink lots of fluids and magnesium.

If I feel like the migraine will struck, I just drink that and go to sleep. Nothing else helps Sad

Dude, a headache for more than 12h isn't a headache - go see a doctor!

As far as I see Sedalgin resembles the drug Plivadon, except Plivadon doesn't have phenobarbital (altho I really don't see why would you need anticonvulsant for migraine :\). Plus Phanacetin has some nasty possible side affects.

But both have something in common: if you use them too much you can have renal failure. That's why I stopped with Plivadon (I used to munch of them too often, like my dad, until sisters mother in law, who's a doctor, told us that we will have kidney failure if we don't stop)...

Ibuprofen is more potent and I don't need to take that much, or too often, so my kidneys are safe Very Happy

I feel your pain..
I suffer from cervical arthrosis (having played tennis for ~10 years surely didn't help) and have headache almost on daily basis. Meds don't do anything of course, I'm left with useless exercises and a ton of "deal with it" Sad

Running and intense physical activity generally alleviate the problem a lot, though

Well I use like 1-3 a month. Me and my mother have some headaches from time to time, sometimes at exactly the same time. She's a torso surgeon, and I had my head scanned, after consultation with a neurolog - no fucking clue what triggers them..
Even got glasses, thinking that my astigmatism might be tiring my eyes, but they still continued.
Funny thing is, that if I don't take any action against it, and continue my day, it escalates to being fucking huge, then I vomit and suddenly it goes away, in like 20-40min..

I went to a neurologist, got my head scanned, doppler of the carotids, EEG, and nothing :\ It's hereditary. My dad has migraines, and my grandmother (his mother) had them.

I also check my vision every year, but it's not that.

After the exam all I got is: drink magnesium, it will help :\

There were times where I got really sick, to the point of vomiting, but luckily I never did. When things get that bad I just curl in a fetal position and try to pass out xD

The worst is when you wake up with a headache, and no matter what you drink it doesn't go away Sad

But I blame some of the headaches on my shitty bed...

That sounds horrible man! I can't imagine getting headaches that often..

I have one question though, out of curiosity, can you make difference from those kinds of hereditary headaches and the more normal ones you get when you don't drink/eat enough during the day?

With me they usually hurt in a different way. The hereditary hurt between the eyes and you can feel them comming for 2-4h, the others hurt in the back side of the head and usually are more sudden.

This.

I also get mine in bunches.

Like now, I'm fine, and haven't had any headache for some time (maybe 2 weeks). But when they come it usually lasts few days.

But these days I drink a lot of water, mostly because of my kidneys (last time I did my blood work and urine I had elevated Ca oxalates in my urine sample, which could lead to kidney stones, so doctor said I should drink more water).

i have migraines that last 2 - 4 days. at least once a month (if im lucky). shit sucks. jerking off during a migraine hurts the head even more. sex too. drinking shit doesn't help. i usually just take 5 400mg ibus and then wait half an hour and try to go to sleep. \o/ doesn't always work. moving your head sucks. looking at things sucks. all you can do is complain. Though I did learn not to get angry when i have a headache. since they're so common and there's no point having a girlfriend stab you in the nut sack just because you're too much of a pussy and your head has a booboo.

nothing worse than a headache. i hate them. usually drinking lots of water helps me, dark room, a moist handtowel over my eyes, swear at god, and just try to sleep.

i once had it so bad i just couldnt sleep, so i went back upstairs, and tried resting in a recliner, which helped actually get me off to sleep.

recliner... lol... people in paradise and their recliners. pish posh!

Usually serious painful headaches are just stress headaches. drinking a hot cup of tea can ease the pain. drinking more hot cups of tea is awesome. drinking too much hot cups of tea makes you sweaty, and sick, and woozy. so then you drink another hot tea to feel good.

Well this escalated pretty fast into the worst week ive had, the headache was for 2-3 days, intense, then i got sick on the stomach, then i started getting painful pinches on my chest, then i got a hell of a fever, and then my stomach went bad again, and finally my right eye started getting a lil spot of fuzzyness on my sight, then full red eye with pain, and more foggy sight, its been 1 day and today it was at its worst, now its settling.

*sigh* and i had such a long time without getting sick.

I'm planing to get the mattress that goes on top of the bed, because I have a 'sofa-bed' - you can fold it and then you have a couch.

Thats reallly strange, had the same symptoms for last 6 days... even to the eye part but mine also went a bit more red on the veins in the eye but probably cause i do suffer with iritis... the headaches are the worse thing that bother me though as I do not normally get them unless severe weather changes occur out the blue, i guess the hot weather might be the problem.. but waking up 6 days in a row with a headache and feeling shit is beyond a joke Very Happy

But i pop a ibu and para and try to muddle through, new symptom today though, very hot sweaty feeling and was shaking like a leaf to the point of it was a shake where I could not walk around properly.. So could be a virus kicking about im thinking. or just getting old and dying off faster by something Very Happy

Headaches are the worst, i cant imagine how people with migraines live...

The human body is so shitty lol, or lets say society has damaged us too far with all this junk, and medicine is still to fucking crappy or the good ones too expensive.

Oh well, my eyes were red with all my veins bright red, it was devilish, now my sight is back, no more pain, still red but getting better. yay.
