Laughing

The keynote is so bad. Laughing The "design" derp Panos Panay, attempting to sounds faggish like Apple, but failing so miserably. The difference is, of course, Apple has real designers who have mastered the art of bullshitting a derp crowd for many years. This one is so bad hahaha.

In the case of Apple it's ~both. Ive is a good designer, but some of the Apple PR is just hilarious. But nothing as horrible as these retards right here (or the ones at Samsung Galaxy S3 keynote). Laughing

The tablet itself doesn't look half bad. I really dig the half tablet half PC idea behind it. If I'm ever in a market for a laptop, I'd consider getting one of these instead of an ultrabook or netbook.

Well, at least the Pro one runs an i5 so it has HD4000, which is DX11.

It should.

The Surface pro uses an ivy bridge I5. So DX11 support. Will have a beast CPU for a device of that size really.

I also love how that cover/keyboard thing works. Very cool.

I'll likely end up getting the Surface Pro and ditching my 13'' CULV laptop.

The iPad is better in some ways - But in the end the iPad isn't running windows. I need windows on a mobile device, and the Surface Pro is running full-fledged Windows 8 Pro. So i'll be able to do everything on the Surface Pro that I can on my 13'' CULV laptop - But with better battery life, and decently thinner.

i will consider buying one of this at year ends. will be a nice replacement for my Apple Air Book, that was kidnapped by my wife Razz

it should run office wit no problems (and better than the apple).

maybe it should do the job for the office computer replacement? i was reading the specs and stuff and should be really nice.

i like the design too.

I can see myself getting one depending on how open it is to installing other OS's and such, if its just a small laptop I'll be a happy man.

Any word on pricing yet?

So how much will all this set me back?
Good question. Microsoft's keeping cagey on the all-important price, only saying that it'll come with a competitive price tag. I reckon that means at least £400, the same as the cheapest iPad.

Expect the 'Pro' version to cost a lot more. With the Intel processor and more storage, I wouldn't be surprised if this beefy tablet cost about as much as an ultrabook -- ie somewhere in the region of £800.

~ US 1.300 +/- for the pro version. but we'll have to wait for the official price.

EDIT: i don't see the point in the regular version. it's the pro version that will kick ass

The sources also estimated the end-market price of the Windows 8 Pro-based Surface tablet PC with Ivy Bridge processor to be at least above US$799, while the Windows RT-based model, featuring Nvidia's Tegra 3, will be priced above US$599.

Yeah, same here. The iPad is the better choice over the normal Surface, as the normal Surface has nothing going for it over the iPad. Where as the Surface Pro is running a full-fledged OS (Unlike the iPad/Surface normal) and has a beefy CPU.

I guess that has to do with the Vomit design of the new Windows OS. Lack of apps and the usual MS stuff: even their own apps doesn't work with the windows mobile OS.
