I ordered a gig of ram the other day. Should arrive Monday. But it's PC3200 while I have PC2100 in my comp (motherboard can take up to PC3200). I'm debating on what I should do. Should I install the ram with the 512 and I'll have 1.5 but it will run at PC2100 or should take out the 512 and run it with 1 gb at PC3200. Might be a dumb question with an obvious answer but I just wanna know the difference between PC2100 and PC3200.

1 Gb of 3200.

PC3200+AMD64 is a perfect combination, though preserve the other blocks and save them for later: ( I used my former PC2100 for my server)

Hope you can use my advice Smile

so you have 1 module of 1gb or 2x pc3200?

beter are 2 modules of the same speed. Maybe your mobo supports dual channels which speeds up things a bit Smile

Right now I have 2 sticks of 256 PC2100 in there. I ordered a pair of 512 PC3200. And yeah my motherboard supports dual channel.

And damn FedEx for not delivering on weekends. It's in my town but won't be delivered until Monday.

I prefer 1 Gb at 3200.Because clock speeds more important than the memory value.

Yeah I already installed the ram like 2 weeks ago. I went with what you guys said. 1 gb with dual channel. Now the only thing I have to upgrade with this comp is the video card and I'll be all good. Well maybe some more ram down the road.
