Just finished building my friends pc, but the bios gives a cpu fan error.
The cpu fan is working, but only on around 300-400 rpm.

Did i miss a setting in the bios? He got the new bios, one that i didn't use before.

Is the bios fan settings correct?

I have to set it up manually as the presets give way too low rpm values than intended.

go to asus uefi fan settings and lower cpu fan warning to 200rpm or whatever. if you are using after market cpu cooler with big ass fan they do less RPMs but it's fine.

Check the pins in the CPU-socket if the above doesn't help.

Well i can't find any settings in the bios related to the damn fan...

I did however managed to turn eco mode off (wich is turned on by default Neutral), and now it runs on around 500-600 rpm.

Mine at home runs on 800 rpm and around 1000 rpm on 100% load..

Plus the odd thing is the temp values:

As you can see, core 1 and 4 are around 10 degrees cooler then core 2 and 3.
This is really odd, i'm sure that the cooling paste was spread equally and not to thick...
This is on stock clocks btw, quite surprised that it already reaches around 70 degrees without OC..

You can't compare sandy bridge with ivy bridge. Ivy bridge's got terrible heat dissipation.
