					| |
					| I borrowed a friends 100% real and legitimate half-life 2 cd version. I've tried installing it several times using various cracks and patches including the vengance offline patch but with no luck. With the vengance offline patch I get the following error while trying to boot:
Invalid or corruipt background texture materials/console/background01.vtf

How can I get this up and working properly?

 Thanks!

P.S. If this is in the wrong forum I apologize and please direct me to the correct one.

					| Just use his steam account.
Then use it in offline mode.

					| I don't understand. Do you want to play HalfLife two offline or do you want to play an online game through Steam? | |

					| You won't be able to use the vengeance crack on a retail copy because they have rebuild all the files
This is not a signature and you're not reading it

					| Yes. Just download the content using someone elses account. Click offline mode and you can play it. | |
