I know its hdd monitoring system.
I always had it turned off by default in bios. Spinrite suggests that I should turn it on.
so on or off? What gives better performance (if there is any difference)
hdd is wd500cavair

I would go for On.
I believe it doesn't affect performance.

I also assume it's a good thing, but then why asus decided to have it set to "off" by default in bios ?
