I know its hdd monitoring system.


I always had it turned off by default in bios. Spinrite suggests that I should turn it on.

so on or off? What gives better performance (if there is any difference)

hdd is wd500cavair

I believe it doesn't affect performance.

Maybe it is due to compatibility issues with some old HDDs. Don't know. Scratch Head It's usually set to off by default though.
