It's one of the more cumbersome systems although thankfully it has improved a bit but it still has a long way to go if they're planning to make anything of it on the PC, Windows 8 apparently focuses a bit more on it as well but I don't think that will help it much.

Just create an offline profile for Windows Live Games.

For less than 7€ is quite fun.
I hope they end up in porting their Cold War game.
It brings back my memories when i was 8 or 10 years old and played with my Airfix plastic soldiers.

They are going to patch the game in order to accept more resolutions.
However they aren't considering in adding multiplayer. I guess that can depend also in the number of sold units.
The issue that annoys me more is not having the possibility of binding and changing the keys. But, these are minor things.

i had a huge collection of army men lol. Something like 3-4k units + tanks, planes, guns, buildings etc lol.

Took us hours each time to set them up anywhere we could (garden preferably) , facing 2 armies against each other ...

Dont think we ever went past the placing tho ehhe.

I still have most of the Airfix. I had almost complete the whole Napoleonic set.

For those who might be interested in remembering some of the old times (probably the most older of us), here is a site with the most important plastic models ever produced.

I have quite a few sets from Airfix and Revell, plus some from Italieri. So, yeah, thanks for the link.

Is it possible to create an offline profile from within the Skidrow version? My friend doesn't already have one made, and there doesn't seem to be an option to create an an offline account like there usually is in the GFWL titles.

I got around this by booting up GTA IV to make one, but he doesn't have that luxury.

I've the original but I installed the Skidrow version in a different machine where I don't have the Steam client.
And I was able to install Windows Live and create an offline profile.

I used this tutorial, that someone have posted here in the forum:

Problem is, that Create New Profile button never shows up.

Yes, but just scroll down the text there's an option to create that profile somewhere.

I was able to do it, and didn't had teh Microsft Live installed in this Windows. I know that I've used that tutorial (never saw that button either for creating new profile).
What I can do is tomorrow repeat the process with another Windows, if you don't find the solution.
This time I'll pay more attention to the process.

The above link will take you to the Windows Store page for our most recently launched title: Toy Soldiers: Cold War Touch Edition. Please note that the Xbox/Live service for Windows 8 does not currently support multiplayer, so that feature is not available in the latest Toy Soldiers release.

Now, for the awesome news. The bis boss D.R. has given me the special honor of saying what we currently have in development: A Steamworks version of Toy Soldiers: Cold War PC that WILL have MULTIPLAYER!

If there are other features you would like to request that you thought were missing from the Toy Soldiers PC release that is currently out on Steam, please drop us some feedback in a special thread in our forums: http://www.signalstudios.net/forums/#/discussion/343/toy-soldiers-cold-war-steamworks-wish-list

No date is currently announced for the release of Toy Soldiers: Cold War PC for Steam but we will post info as it is available in our forums
(http://www.signalstudios.net/forums/) , on Twitter (https://twitter.com/signal_studios) and on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/toysoldiers2 or http://www.facebook.com/SignalStudios)

wow both games united to one bigger game Wink

About Early Access:
Quote:
To give you a hint, Steam requires you to be in EA for at least 60 days Smile Plus, we'll be adding the first TS along with several other DLCs.

About Pricing
Quote:
We had a lot of issues with our port of the original Toy Soldiers. This time, we're rebuilding the games from the ground up to make sure that players don't experience those problems.
As for 'bugs' with the keyboards - it's mostly just us figuring out the keyboard scheme and what will work best for playing on the PC. This means that we may change around some of the controls.

We're also currently selling Early Access at $9.99, and after Early Access the game will be $14.99. Unfortunately you have to have Complete for the update if you already have original game. The original is published by Microsoft. This is 100% through Signal Studios.

Aw man, I'd love to snag that! Very glad they were able to self publish - I wish more publishers would allow their developers to do that.

Signal Studios has acquired the rights to the Toy Soldiers franchise from Microsoft. Thus giving them complete control over what platforms to release their installments on. The first thing the studio did after its acquisition was to launch Toy Soldiers: Complete on PC in early access

In a press release today, Signal Studios’ president and creative director DR Albright III said that they were “very eager to start development on the future of the Toy Soldiers franchise.” This probably means new installments being planned and if the studio starts now, they can release their next title by early 2016.
