|
 |
title say it all really, this fucking mouse is just too finicky for a fabric pad which gets dirty.
hell the latest ballsing up of, the cat walked across it with dirty feet and now i've a deadspot in the middle of the pad, i'm thinking a fabric pad is the mistake, any idea which non fabric ones work best with the RAT 7?
it's the second hardware revision as well so it freaks out and refuses to work if it gets dust in it's eye until it's unplugged and then back in, sick of having to wash the mousepad twice a day to keep it working properly because of tiny imperfections which require a trip through the washing machine and dryer to fix..

i honestly like fabric ones because of how non fabric ones can be cold as hell first thing in the morning.
as for the other two, no thanks, i'm not about to try a mousepad for this RAT 7 without at least one other person verifying that it works beforehand.
also, is yours the first hardware revision or second? i've noticed the first will put up with things the second won't and vice versa.

where can you buy these mouse pads in the USA?
i don't really want to pay $26 for international shipping.
qpadusa.com has no add to cart button....

I don't have a RAT 7 but I really like my fUnc Surface 1030 with my Logitech G9x.

neither of those stores carry or even list on their websites the qpad heaton......
as to the other replies, thanks but no thanks!
i will not try any mousepad with this mouse on pure faith, it is BY FAR the most finnicky mouse in all of existence and refuses to even track on above 90% of all mousepads on the market from what i can tell, please recommend nothing you have not personally tried a RAT 7 on!
also, if you add a recommendation, please mention which hardware revision of the RAT 7 you have tried it with, second hardware revision RAT 7 is identifiable by a non-circular shape around the optical laser sensor on the bottom of the mouse.
pictured below is an image of the hardware revision 2 of this mouse, you will notice that it's laser sensor has a sort of cut out filter piece, if the one you are recommending with does not look like this aside from color (obviously, pictured is an albino, identical laser however) you are using a first hardware revision of the RAT.
[edit] with corrected search terms ebay apparently does claim to have them.... however... well.. two things
1. it's ebay, king of rip offs, scams, opened boxes sold as new, fakes, etc, etc.
2. international shipping is required.[/edit]

The plastic sheeting ontop of graphics tablets (replaceable btw) is the best mouse surface material that ever existed... period...

well as an update to the thread, i bought it from i think qpad's store, sadly though it's coming from the UK in london or some crap and 5-10 days before it even fucking ships and like $20 for postage.
honestly though, out of the ones i've had, if the XFX warpad didn't develop indents where your wrist sits, it would be by far my favorite, the steelseries Qck comes in a solid second place however, just as good of a pad to use as far as tracking goes but the XFX is just way more comfortable, until it starts killing you, then it had to go.
both track extremely consistently with a RAT 7 revision 2 hardware mouse until the cats walks across them.
i honestly can't really say i'm optimistic about switching to a non fabric pad as my own personal experience is that the RAT mice prefer and track more consistently on fabric pads and refuse to track well at all on hard surface mousepads, but i trust the advice given here and am fed up with the cat's dirty feet preventing me from doing epic scores like:
Spoiler: | |
yes, that is how consistently the RAT tracks on the steelseries Qck if i launder it every fucking day, 11 to 1 K/D ratio, that match happened after it was 5 minutes fresh from the dryer.
