Freaking races are every 2 months, its expensive, so im ok with it, every 2 month i save up and i go race.
Meanwhile games seem to have taken a dip in quality so i thought.... "maybe i should get a physical hobby, a cheap one to kill time "
Bought some RC helis, small ones, kind of advanced, oh boy its a blast, but the fucking things break 10000x more times than my car every race. Its a fucking money pit
Now i gotta get rid of these things and noone wants them here LOL, god damnit and now i need money
aahhh fucking compulsive buyer+ boredom cunt

what else could i use in a poor country lol, Nissan 240sx, stock engine turboed (last dyno 225hp 250tq, now its a big turbo fully built, no dyno yet)
At least we get precious cars from Japan (R32's, Rx7, S14, S15 etc) i could upgrade, but i love the 240sx platform

The 240 is a great car to drift, is it an S13? My first "sportscar" was an S13. And I've been through many of the cars that Japan has to offer, my current "project car" is an S14 kouki actually Called 200SX here, because of the SR20DET we get in them as stock.
Old engine spec resulted in almost exactly 400hp, but most of those parts are gone now.. Fully forged, built head, BC 272 cams, Precision billet turbo, 1200cc injectors, GReddy intake etc etc (the spec list is loooong ).. Will be running E85 this year, and land past 500hp. If I decide to get another 044 fuel pump, I'll defintely have 600+
What's more is I have a full vinyl wrap booked and paid for on it, still havent done it though, and mount my 18x9.5 Volk CE28Ns (have a set of Work VS-XX now, I'll never sell them)..
PM me some pics of yours if you want!

Meh, wish i could afford going that high up, im probably gonna hit the 330-350 hp and stay there, fuel here sucks, and unless E85 gets here, ill never go higher, VP fuel is expensive as HELL here.
My car doesnt have anything amazing on it, but i have made a very good budget car with a very good reliability. Only good thing i have on it are the rims, Volk GT-C , Wish i could get some Work Meisters S1, i f.... love those.
Heres some pics,

Can't say I really support the sport of Drifting. Why not do auto cross or track days somewhere instead? You won't blow through tires like a retard, and you are using the car as it was intended.
Where are you getting E85? The amount of extra power I can get through timing advance using E85 is insane, but I can't find any here in the UK. In the states it's pretty easy to get.

Sorry, I disagree. The 'sport' (If it could be called such) is a waste of tires. Cars were designed to go fast. 'Drifting' around a track destroying perfectly good tires and the track is nonsense. If you aren't good enough to drive at the track you can always attend auto cross events.
Just because something is fun doesn't mean far superior alternatives exist. The fact that a bunch of kids with no money 'drift' their cars and can hardly afford new tires when the alternative of doing auto cross (which is free and far more rewarding) is available is indication enough of how stupid the 'sport' of drifting is. It's pomp and flair for people that have little time and training behind a wheel. Go and play some mario kart or the latest teen-centric need for shit drift game if you want. It's the bastard child sport of people that also think 'donking' and 'hellaflush' are cool. Maybe i'm just too old to understand the shit, but I know enough to know that keeping traction is the key to going fast around a track. So if the goal is not to go fast around the track; What the fuck are you doing? Go 'drift' in the parking lot and get it out of your system.

Wait, wait, wait - who is trying to convince anyone that one sport is "superior" to another?
Why am I even having this conversation with you, I gotta say you're not a dumb person by any means, so I cannot fathom why you would even care why people like drifting just because you don't - even less why you would say it's only for teens, people with little time behind the wheel etc etc.
"Waste of tires" - so what? They're not your tires, so why would you care.
"It's nonsense" - according to you, yeah, does that automatically make the sport nonsense?
"If you aren't good enough to drive at the track" - yeah, because pro drifters obviously can't handle cars.... come on!
"You can always attend auto cross events" - BUT WHY!? If they want to drift, then why the hell should they need to do Auto-X?
Again, I understand you don't like it, find it entertaining or whatever, but this almost elitist attitude that if that's what they're interested in, they should just "go drift in the parking lot".. ?
It is a sport, just like any other sport with judges is a sport, just that this one involves cars. You know how it works, drivers are judged by their speed, angle, control etc. It's not just doing powerslides for fun.
But why am I even telling you/arguing over this, you obviously have your mind made up about the sport and the people in it/around it. Actually, this is isn't about the drifting even, it's just that in my eyes, you're bashing something just because you don't like it/like something else more.

As spectacular as paint drying.
You said "waste of tires", but cars are also getting damaged during races, so STOP RACING. |
I'd prefer to watch drifting over paint drying.
Further, if you can't appreciate the skill involved with racing another car on a track I suggest you go back to driving your movement appliance.

I wonder.... actually Drifting is a lot cheaper than Circuit racing, as i can buy used tyres here for really cheap, while in Circuit here you have to get a LOT of stuff to run in it. I do run hard on track days, but we dont have Auto-X here sadly.
As far as the drifting "bs" thing, you may wanna be open about it, for me its a lot of fun and ive been running for many years now. Indeed running circuit is the best, but i dont have the money to prep a car for it nor can i buy semi slicks and all the jazz that you need to have fun in circuit racing here. In the end, as a spectator, drifting is very boring indeed, when i dont race i stay at home, i dont even go watch, but drifting is very fun, if you havent ever drifting 2 cars together the whole track, then you may not want to say if its fun or not. No skills? Again, try racing another person, door to door, try 150km/h entries breaking grip before entering the curv, try drifting 5 cars in line in a whole track.
Skills? Nah, they are just going WOT and Full lock on the wheel probably
Personally i dont even like drifting events like Formula D, 3-4 corners and its done. personally i go to tracks to drift the whole track continuously. Maybe you havent tried it out, everyone has their preferences.
I can say that a lot of people here that run Drag, Circuit in various levels have started drifting as a hobby, why? cause its fun, its different, its a fun change.
FFS if i could i would be running in F1, but i cant, so i have my fun here, and boy do i get it.

You should try to setup some auto cross events. All you really need is a permission to use a big parking lot and some cones. Auto cross itself is great because even cars without a lot of power can still compete since auto cross is in such small sections that more powerful cars can't really stretch their legs. It's almost entirely driver skill and how good a car handles.
I guess tires makes sense in drifting. Since you are destroying tires and want to break traction the quality of the tire doesn't really matter. Where as you need your tires to be in decent shape when taking it to the track.
I'm not sure about DR, but in both the states and here in the UK running your car on a track isn't that expensive. They'll do like $30 track days. All you need is a helmet and the car has to be in proper order.
I have no intention of 'trying out' breaking traction along an entire track; When i'm at a track i'm racing for time. I could see people doing drag wanting to do it though. Drag gets boring unless you have a lot of money to dump into a monster setup that you can't even daily drive, and really lets be honest, doing the 1/4 mile only takes so much skill compared to running the car around the track.
