I know, I know... "Why do you want with it? To spy someone, you perv!?", "Something, something, privacy of others. It's against the law, and stuff". And so-on.

But the situation is simple: there are a lot of predators on the Internet, and even with the right education, teenagers will sometimes fall in their clutches, for various reasons. Of course, we could block their Internet access, and hire someone to follow them at all times, basically excluding them from society. But as it is known, these are not the best options, and I am aware that "monitoring" them is also not the best option. And it may not be the one they deserve, but it is the option they need right now.

So with that in mind, I ask for suggestions. Razz

I already have one called "Hidden Camera", but it's not the sharpest tool in the shed. The damn thing, disconnects after ~15 minutes, do to being pirated, has a lot of connection issues, and since it doesn't broadcast at real-time, it lacks a very needed refresh button.

I tried "UltraVNC", but it also sucks. It eats all of the bandwidth, and every time I try - unsuccessfully - to connect to the target PC, it triggers a thme change from the Windows Aero to the Basic one. This is a dead give away something is up.

I tried to find those recommend on the site TopTenReviews, but to no avail. But I'm sure there must be other options around, besides those mentioned.

I also tried one called "iSpy", but it isn't intended to what I need. I tried a few others, but can't recall their exact names.

One I really liked, was the "iTalc". But alas, I couldn't make it work. The damn thing just wouldn't connect to the target PCs. I followed the official troubleshooting, but ended up in the same situation: not working. If anyone knows how to configuring correctly, please say so.

I have yet to try "LanSchool", but I have my hopes down low.

And why do I need it to be stealthy? Because if they know they're being watched, they obviously won't misbehave. Which means, they'll resort to pull whatever they're hypothetically thinking on doing, outside of the house and of parent supervision.

Oh, and it needs to either be free, or at least, there must be some working pirated version around. Twisted Evil

We use Lanschool here at my workplace, and it works quite nicely, allthough, I didnt make any special tests, it does what it is supposed to do.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Don't you think they deserve to have their faith rewarded? Laughing
