Hmmmmm.... Some time ago I had a problem with router dissconnecting itself from the internet beacouse dhcp was not renewed. Seems like it was my isp failute becouse it doesn't happened for over a month now.

Now I have other problem:

My conenction is 30d/10u

With good range I get 28d which is great and everything loads fast and smooth.
But after some time(not sure how much yet) it gets down to 10 or 15mps in speedtest.net. Effectivly I just load youtube video in 720p and check how fast it loads. Always the same video. On my good normal 28 effective strenght grey bar speeds up waaaay ahead of playback, while on 10 and 15 video have to load constantly like shit.

Restarting router hard way (plug on/of) doesn't help. restarting pc helps. At least I think beacouse it comes back to full strenght after restarting. I am not sure how long my pc must be on and how must I use the internets for slowdown to occutr yet tho...

One more thing. Its a god damn thing that drives me crazy. Even more than thing above. I am on pc with linksys wifiadapter.(5 bars signal)
There are 2 laptops connected to the same router via wifi. Fathers acer and my sister fucking 10yo sony vaio.

When dad is connected to the router my connection still works fine... but as soon as that vaio go turned on... my pc speed crawwwwls. Even those forums take time to load.. Its like i am back to 1mbit or something lower. with ultra latency.
The weird thing is that it happens even if she doesnt browse or download anything. It just needs to be turned on to claim all the internets.
It doesnt matter if all 3 computers are connected or only 2. She has always all the internets as long as its on. And she doesnt even have good signal strenght and youtube video stutters for her.

So she gets all the internet but not effectibly? Its like she gets high TMS but low readiness and Thats how it ends with poor EMS Cool Face
I;ve installed internet drivers again on her laptop and deleted all wifi connexctions and created them again but it persists.

Any tips what I should do for those 2 problems?

If you aren't getting the rated speeds on speedtest.net then it is obvious you have an issue with your transport topology. Either your router is shitting bricks, or your ISP isn't able to supply you with what you are paying for due to attenuation or the trunk on your remote terminal being oversold.

Nooooo ! Laughing

Its not that. let me explain again. I am getting same speeds as on speedtest.net. the problem is that sometimes all of sudden my internet connection gets slower to like 10mbits istead of 30 and only fix is restarting pc. So its not isp fault.
There must be something wrong with router or settings in pc/wifi adapter if restarting pc totally restore my internet speed.

Thats first problem. Any thoughts on second problem Ive described?

So you are saying that after restarting your PC (And the wireless adaptor) you get full bandwidth again?

Most shitty wifi adaptors get too hot leading to connection loss and/or speed drops. That might be happening.

Regarding the speed drops when the other two computers are turned on: try running something like peerblock on all computers and see if they're calling out to any IP address even when you're not browsing.

Try to see if it happens with a usb network adapter.

Also, are you sure you don't have some app/service leeching bandwidth over time ? I use "Windows 7 firewall control" by Sphinx software. It has a free edition, too.

I am sure there is nothing running in background. Well... avast made some alerts about steam recently but its allright now.

I have usb adapter linksys (in a shielded short usb cable) - I have 4-5 signal strengh bars

Well the problem is I can't even check how it works directly on cable becouse this would require moving too much furniture in 2 rooms Laughing

I don't think its adapter... It was working all that time

I am kinda suprised. It still works full speed and i turned my pc on like 6 hours ago. I will watch carefully if it drops down and will try to notice why

I'd try peerblock or even wireshark (if you can understand it) on those computers and seeing what's what, IMO avast or every other AV is just useless with some spyware/malware.
