anyone done these as adults? how did you survive? i got mine done 2 days ago... i have sleep apnea and snoring issues so i was advised to have my "monstrous" tonsils removed... day of surgery i hear its tonsils and adenoids AND my uvula which are getting the snip... so i man up, but jesus... the painnnnn...... doc was insane, after the surgery he is like i hope u try to eat solid foods by tonight.... I COULDN'T EVEN SWALLOW MY SPIT... water felt like stabbing myself in the face.... nothing worked... my neck was so swollen shot and painful... today i started getting really weak and dizzy so i knew dehydration was setting in since i hadn't ate or drank anything in 2 days so i melted an extra strength ibuprofen in water, said a hail merry and downed it then iced my neck for an hour... my swollen went down enough for me to eat a can of soup, a weight gainer shake and some ice cream before its all closed up again...
and apparently the pain and all that good stuff stick around for 2 weeks or so AND day 5-7 are actually the worst days not the first few days... i cant possibly imagine how things could get any worse... the morphine they gave me is absolutely useless and i cant sleep cause if i accidentally swallow while sleeping i wake up with the biggest sharpest pain of life and gag which makes me wanna puke but i know if i do then sensation will be 50 times worse...
anyone else had this? why does god hate me? do black-holes really have a McDonald in them? Jericho is a good show have you seen it?

mine is bad i suppose? couple gfs slept beside me fine... one or two didnt like it... i got it for snoring and health reasons...
had ibuprofen (bought childrens liquid.. and i mix bunch of that with morphine and down it... opens my mouth enough for maybe an hour and that my window to eat or drink everything i can... nothing hard... last night i had scrambled eggs and cut up hotdogs... and some choc milk.... olives with expertly hidden chillie peppers were a bad idea however.
and reg67 there are bunch of stuff u can do for snoring, this stuff is pretty extreme i think....

Are you sure it's normal to be that bad after 2 days? Maybe you should get another doctor to check it? What you described just doesn't sound normal to me...

Careful with the morphine. It's addictive as hell, and the withdrawal for me lasted a month. It was 1 month of hell.

It's normal, so to say.
My aunt had the surgery done when she was 40 something. Spent 3 weeks with fever and painkillers after it.
