Well, 720p TVs are marketed as HDTVs Rolling Eyes Its a perfectly acceptable res imo. Besides I can't get any higher if I want to use my TV. I play on higher res on LAN parties ofc, when I use my laptop screen.

Well, then, it shouldn't be a bump for you getting the so-desired monitor. Razz

Sabin still hasn't learned the art of spin. "My dear, a 23" 1080p/24" 1200p monitor will lower the strain on my eyes, thus I will be able to see you much clearer!" Cool Face

... interesting to note you mention 24"/1200p though. Do you see them as viable for gaming or is it worth just sticking to 1080p and trying to snag a decent 100/120hz monitor?

There are 120Hz 1080p computer monitors (23-27")?
I wouldn't get a 42" TV as my main monitor.

And still, they are all TN, so meh. I love the colors on my U2410.

BTW,

Even that has almost twice the pixel count of 720p. Laughing

720p is perfectly fine on a TV, because you sit further away from it.... everytime I come close to the screen I get dissapointed Laughing

With some few exceptions like Dead Space 2 with all the AA and AF you could ever want Cool Face

Oh come on, emulators go without saying! NO laptop (nor desktop for that matter, but laptops are the perfect choice really) should be without the usual suspects when it comes to emulators; NES, SNES, Megadrive, PS1. Plus some of the others like C64/Amiga.

Disciples I & II are also brilliant TB fantasy strategy games.

I kind of prefer the second one rather than the third Smile

Is there any newer games which you can recommend for laptop?

I have a P4 Dual Core with some shitty Intel card.. so preferably games more depended on cpu and less on gfx.

For example I am able to run Bastion with some minor slowdowns. Source runs fine as well, but on the other hand games like Call of Duty 4, I am only able to get 15 fps with everything set to low.

You should launch yourself into the indie paradise, games like Unepic, Terraria, SpaceChem, The Binding of Isaac, Gemini Rue, Cave Story+, Dungeons of Dredmor, Nightsky, Atom Zombie Smasher, Frozen Synapse and many others are extremely light on resources while being absolutely awesome Smile

Going away for 10 days on vacation with the wifey and kids and we got ourselfs , finally, a little laptop for on the road. It's pretty solid i guess.

It's a HP Pavilion m4 Beats, 8gb ram, i5 m2450, 256gb SSD, intel 3000HD + AMD 7450m

So wondering if anyone has suggestions for some games for it Smile

The graphics power seems to be very limited on it. Do you want to play on your own or together?
