so the other day thunder cut the power so everything went down, the puter, xbox, tv, etc etc, when everything was back up and running the puter didn't connect to the internet so i reset the router, and all went well.. but the xbox is another issue. it doesn't aquire any IP at all, it just says 0.0.0.0, wich means it does "sense" the router, because when you haven't connected it to anything the IP-field in the Evo-X dashboard menu is blank.

i tried resetting the router a couple of times but it doesn't help, also i can't reach the router to reconfig it because 192.168.0.1 doesn't work, and if i do have another internal IP i can't find out what it is since cmd>ipconfig doesn't even say. i guess a reinstall of evo-x on the box would probably solve the problem but i can't burn any cd-rw disc to boot it with. i'm in a world of shit now with Destroy All Humans beeing out and all. ideas? suggestions? Sad

Correct me if I am wrong here, but you cant connect to the router from your PC also ?

if thats the case, then you need to sort that before looking at the xbox.

What are the settings on your xbox, and you say ipconfig gives nothing what about "ipconfig /all"

I presume you are connect via your router to the net now... ?

If the nic is screwed in the xbox it may be repairable, the guy here - http://consoles.networkboy.net/index.php

is an expert in that type of things.

Ignore the fact the site is bare atm, he must be changing it, but he is superb with the inside of the xbox.

actually i got it working again and i'm not even sure what i did.. i kept messing around with the router, pulling the plug and resetting etc etc, didn't help.. cmd>ipconfig /renew didn't really od shit either, the commandprompt just froze over and over.. so i booted the puter a couiple of times and tried assigning a new IP over and over and finally it worked, so i reached the router.. tho i didnt need to configure shit since all settings was still there, wich _shouldn't_ be after resetting it. a couple of hours later i started the xbox to watch some old movie on the hdd and the ip was there.. so i don't know wich of the things i did solved the problem. oh well.. something else will fuck me over again in a few days i'm sure.
