So ive always enjoyed JA2, saw that the 1.13 mod was updated so i went back to it.

Started yesterday, captured 2 parts of the first city, got the third one and the counteratack came.

I have played this mod extensively so i selected the Expert dificulty.

I must have chosen the fucking Serious Sam Difficulty cause what happened was retarded:

I went up into a roof, to hide from the 20 guys who came to atack at first, killed like 15 and i went out to the map to see how many were actually left:

Hold on, how many elites were in that counterattack? I have it turned off in the options .ini - too much frustration. Razz

Using the default values it's more of an extreme challenge than a balanced part of the gameplay - you can see Lopin still had 95 at that point with more on the way. Very Happy

Just disable it altogether or drop the numbers down to 10% or something and it's just fine.

I'm really not sure why they put in such high values anyway. You NEVER encounter so much opposition later in the game.

edit: oh and a thread about JA2 deserves to be in the Gaming Arena section!

I like the new one, since it doesn't show a chance of hit, now its some weird reticle thing that makes no sense Razz so i like not knowing the chances and just trying to take more APs aiming more Razz

Like the new one too. Old system was all about range stat of a gun and making headshots, with new system at close distance pistols, smgs and shotguns are more preferable.

Although sometimes im like 5-8 spaces away from someone with a M14, aiming the best i can, and the fuckign idiot misses with over 85 markmanship 2-3 shots. MEH
