Liam overacts? Where you watching the past episodes of Spartacus? It isn't that Andy overacted, it's that he didn't act at all. He simply read the lines and showed about as much commitment to the role as Uwe Boll does to quality movie making. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Spartacus TV-series, but it had nothing to do with Andy, the only actor in the series who would make the other (excellent) actors seem less than so because of how awkwardly he would deliver his lines. (I mean for god sakes, when the guy comes back from the underground having fighting as a beast and behaved as if he had been out with the boys watching Bingo, in a bad way).

Yeah i kinda agree. I found the beginning really weak but i must say it got better towards the end.

Watched the new episode last night and it was ok. The new guy has some massive shoes to fill and I'm willing to give him a chance for a few episodes to see if he rises to the occasion.

Well I watched it too , and it looks the same as always...the new guy is kinda wierd like a more gay version of Andy , but it was entertaining and it's only the beginning of new season.
 @ whore house scenes..

My main issue with the new guy is that by the end of Andy's run he looked like he had been through all the things Spartacus had been through, and the new guy just looks to fresh if you know what I mean. But as I said in my previous post I am going to give him a chance.

The new actor playing Spartacus is actually better than I expected. Andy Whitfield was great in the role and irreplaceable. Sadly he's gone (such is life) and the series had to move on. I think the people from Starz did a good job casting the new lead guy.
About the first ep. yeah it started slow but I'm glad I'm not one of those guys that is expecting non-stop action in every f..ing episode, if it were so then I wouldn't love shows like The Walking Dead as much as I do now. I'm interested to see how much they will derail (or stay true) from the history/legend that inspires the show.

Great first episode of the second season, I am glad that Andy is playing Spartacus no more, this actor has some emotion and has more than two facial expressions. I am finding myself missing the master of house Batiatus with every encroaching minute however. Just goes to show how important that man was for the series.

Now there, I couldn't agree more. John Hannah is an excellent actor and was the best of the whole lot in the first season and prequel.

It was a real shame lucretia was the one who survived. Found Batiatus far more interesting. I'm sure Lucretia will come to her senses sooner or later if she's not already just faking it.

just watched episode 3 and i like it more and more (new season obviously)
its a bit like the first season, started rather slow, but now it really picked up and is as good ever.
great episode 
edit : just watched the end and not wanting to give anything away, but
