This game.... When I saw the glock and the mini 14 had the same fucking range I just quit the game and uninstalled it. The weapons have no consistency when it comes to the stats
Oh and for those who don't know it, the glock is a 9mm pistol while the mini 14 is a 5.56mm rifle. Also for some reason the .38 special with a 2" barrel has more range than a desert eagle. Fuck this game
Why they bother using real names of weapon. You just save my bandwidth...
They don't, it's called klock 17 in the game.
And there are several name changes on weapons.
Anywho, been playing quite a bit now and I must say that it's an OK game.
It's dumbed down as fuck but still manages to keep me entertained, however this is no Jagged Alliance game, not even close. All they did was use the same story, name and characters but changed/removed almost everyhing else.
Well, Commandos was more of a puzzle game - each character had unique abilities that you used to complete objectives.
This game is just mindless pew pew for now. I just cleared Drassen - and half of the enemies have melee weapons and no armour. The rest have low powered handguns with 0 range. Any merc with above average dexterity/agility can easily take on 3-4 of these noobs in open field. 2 experienced mercs with good equipment - like a sniper + assault rifle can take out a seemingly infinite number of enemies.
They also cut or fucked up many of JA2's features. Apparently you now have to manually give equipment and weapons to militia - one by one! Now that's some serious strategic planing.
Yes, Silent Storm is really nice. Try Hammer and Sickle as well - it started as a mod by an avid JA fan and a prominent community member but got so much support and became a full standalone game. It's very similar to JA + has a branching interactive story with multiple endings. Oh, and no dumb robots or blasters either. Plus you can't turn your soldiers into super powered terminators with hundreds of action points like you could in SS and SSS. Personally I liked Hammer and Sickle much more than the original games. I am not sure how good the translation is though.
I've played this game a little bit now, being a hardcore fan of the original JA serie... I feel like the only thing that I will get out of playing this game is reinstalling the original for a playthrough.
pretty much, i played a few missions, strange how much getting used to real time takes with JA, but then again, this is actually... competent.... i'd given up hope of that pages ago!
maybe in a few patches, this could be an extremely fun game!
how to train milicia?
how to repair things?
how to attach silencer?
No global storage?
I have no clue
Seems like you can only repair your guns
I haven't gotten a silencer yet
There is no global storage and it's really annoying, you can't trade items on the map screen or via the mercs screen either, you have to manually drop items on the ground for someone else ot pick it up.

there's a button on the right hand side of the screen edge, you have to select one merc first to give then another to receive, it's kinda dodgy, but it works.

When you order stuff from the online store its delivered to a storage case in your airport. There's 3 spots to "store" stuff there. If you're looking at the plane in the level and it's nose is pointing up/north, its the building just to the NE of it.
Often times the sliding gate is closed when you return to the level and there's also some guy that lingers around there behind a desk or something. That's how you know you've got the right building.
Overall, I'm enjoying the game but I am not comparing it to the original JA series as I never played them. Still some bugs here and there, but overall, fun.
someone spotted the rockets ammo?
i want to buy the m79 or a rocket rifle, but i can't see any ammo for it on the store... i don't think a 66mm MISSILE would fit into.
