I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually enjoyed the demo, well, the gameplay mechanics I mean. The demo itself was not what I expect the full game to be, presentation wise I mean. In other words, that was an unrealistic approach to a base camp. I mean seriously? If I was going against that many guys, I'd just nuke it from orbit and be done with it. Be easier for sure hehe.

Mainly, I enjoyed the "real-time" aspect of it. I like being able to pause and react to the situation accordingly when dealing with multiple party members.

I absolutely loved Fallout Tactics, and while this isn't quite the same thing, the gameplay mechanic of the "real-time" aspect of it all is, IMO.

I never played the original JA's (I think it came out on CD format and I couldn't afford a cd-rom drive at the time) so I only played the Fallout games in turn based combat. Loved those as well. Just saying that I think I will enjoy playing this.

Real time doesn't have to be bad. Is it like Men of War at all? Some of the missions where you get only a few guys are so awesome in that

This game.... When I saw the glock and the mini 14 had the same fucking range I just quit the game and uninstalled it. The weapons have no consistency when it comes to the stats

Oh and for those who don't know it, the glock is a 9mm pistol while the mini 14 is a 5.56mm rifle. Also for some reason the .38 special with a 2" barrel has more range than a desert eagle. Fuck this game

Why they bother using real names of weapon. You just save my bandwidth...

The demo map is the worst choice ever, awful!

I will dl this when its out and give it one more try, but this demo really did not impress me at all.

It's out already.

I thought that the enemies being visible even if your mercs don't see them was a demo thing but apparently not Sad

uhm... or the devs are clearly retarded or skidrow got hands over a beta build...
over the top of the main screen it states: BUILD 0.91 (FINAL DEC 22 2011)
the demo is more updated than the game? Laughing

You're surprised? It seems logical for them to have made the demo after completing the game - it takes time to get everything printed and ready for shipping. I think I'll pass, though. I've seen a few Youtube clips concerning the demo and it looks horrible. AI is terrible, being able to track every enemy ruins the whole game, the balance is all wrong and the game is just too easy.

The full game supposedly has fog of war. The demo didn't. Sad Anyone confirm?

Skidrow has no FoW. Didn't see any difficulty options either. As much as I like the pause-plan combat, it's way too clunky and simply does not capture the 1.13 feel.

i thought this game was only on digital delivery, because of the looooow price tag over it (25ish € )

I read a German review and they said that there is no FOW in the game.

V 1.03 Changes

Combat

- Fixed AI not being able to target player that was prone within a certain range

Camera / Visuals

- Tweaked Camera distance and angle to be less restrictive
- Some minor tweaks on the sight cone calculation to improve performance

General

- Increased video memory reserved for ground texture baking to reduce texture popping in with camera max / min distance
- File system load order fixed
- Fixed autopause options not being saved globally

Save & Load

- Game checks if game files have been modified and saves modification flag in savegames
- Open doors are fully open after loading

Worldmap

- Wounds and overload do now reduce movement speed of world squads
- Fixed bug where locations would be invisible after combat

UI

- Added cursor changes on portrait when trade/repair/heal action is activated
- Explosive spots can now be accessed from both sides of the wall
- Item swapping in lootscreen added
- i key toggles inventory
- Inventory shows all squad members in tutorial
- selecting player of different squad changes UI in pause mode correctly
- Access to former global inventory removed
- Plants and some other materials are ignored by the context cursor

Combat / Plan & Go

- Preview and actual position of mercs now fits 100%, thus allowing all shots if they would hit while planing
- Tweaked explosion times for grenades to be shorter
- Emmisions of grenades prevent combat reset
- Roofs are revealed if enemies below them attack player
- Tweaked weapons RPM so it’s more consistent throughout different weapon types

AI

- Fixed: change in combat position caused bug in AI attacking behavior - they changed stances very often instead of firing
- Fixed: change in melee attack caused AI to remain in present stance even if they do an emergency melee defense
- Human player enemy detection events should fire correctly again
- Building defenders that are inside a building didn't rush at snipers. now they should do it if the sniper has LoS on them.
- After enemy contact, AI with medi-equipment all started to heal each other instantly. this is randomized now.
- Fixed: enemies planned their paths through tanks, ending up walking against the tank.

thanks for the heads up!
gonna try the patch now. Smile

edit: yeah, all better with the patch, seems a new game.
except if someone of your mercs go down, get revived with medpack... et voilà, you can't heal that merc anymore. Laughing
also my shitty mineral mines are pumping 5000$ instead the mere 800-1000$ before the patch, NOW i can afford some serious equipment!
