WTF!!!!
I knew this was coming. They changed their format 3-4 days ago. Took out the latest section.
It included all TPB stuff anyway plus a lot more...?

As much as I loved TL I really am sick of its new interface. The old one was golden.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Yeah, i still use it. I find everything i need, very fast, on piratebay. I have a 10Mbit line and I regularly get 8-9Mbit speeds on torrents, so i dunno why i should not use it.
What else? Rapidshare? Megaupload? I am not going to pay for some crappy, obviously illegal shit that enrichens a few. Will anybody be surprised if rapidshare is seized one day? Same for piratebay. Difference is that torrentz are completely free while rapidshare is selling premium accounts, which makes it a nice service to hunt for. Money seized always justifies much police efforts put into it.
If you pirate stuff, don't buy premium accounts or send money into the pockets of the owners. Might be a short term winner but it is a longtime loser.
And i dunno how the private FTP scene is nowadays. But I got out 7-8 years ago when the shit was crippling down from the inside because of all the busts. I would really not like a private site to be seized with all the logfiles etc on it. You are a premium user with a paper trail as big as china. I used to use SSL/TLS layers, virtual hosts, encrypted IRC channels, proxy servers etc etc. But you always make mistakes, forget to turn it on (or you just turn it off to speed up things...) etc.
With torrentz you have the advantage that you are in a huuuuuuuuuuge noise of random people so it is very difficult to be found.

There are plenty of "blogs" that provide daily premium accounts or premium cookies for major filehosting sites
I don't know if it's allowed to post them but search google for "premium cookies" & "Premium Accounts - Cookies" & "All Premium Accounts For Free Updated" works really awesome with JDownloader
I used to download from irc back in the good old days. It was awesome along with fxp
EDIT : There is also DC++. I don't know how good is it these days but when I used it few yrs ago it was pretty good

Even if you actually have to pay for your Usenet provider (and some people on the hump know *exactly* what I mean by this ), I'll take the whopping $7.50/month if it means I can download at 4+ times the speed, without having to seed (which is in fact illegal and a felony) or to be in some fucking aweful private trackers.
I don't know what kind of a connection you have, but with my 120 MBps no torrent has ever come close to the 14.5 megs my connection can do. On average, if I'm lucky, a decent one will maybe hit 5.
As for IRC: Google "XDCC bots"
Typically not faster than torrents though, unless again, you are in some shitty private channels where you gotta keep up a ratio etc. |
Paying 7.50 a month to get faster speeds? Hah, I'd rather put it on before i go to sleep or just let it run in the background while I am working (or watching another movie). And with the 100/year saved I will go to some nice restaurant now and then.
You are 'against seeding which is a fellony' but are willing to pay someone else to provide you illegal goods. That makes no sense at all. They can never ever trace all the people seeding in the world because they have to go through the ISPs etc. But tracing people paying for a premium account is not really that difficult. Same goes for XDCC. The more elite and secured the service is, the bigger the 'correlation risk is'. Using torrenz, everybody is independent. They have to go after everybody independently, which nobody will ever do. Do you really think they will put everybody who is seeding in jail? They'd better start building now. There is a small risk, true. But the same goes for speeding or being drunk on a bike. Yet, everybody does it. But imagine them taking an XDCC channel or another private sharing channel. And you can say you are not seeding or uploading, but you most probably will get a visit from the cops, just to witness or they will want to hear your story. You might not get convicted, but you will take the misery of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And if you pay, your money is gone. Just look at the megaupload guys who paid a 'lifelong premium account'. Kim schmidt bought 20 mercedes with it. He now is in jail and your money is gone.
And do you guys really have the time and courage to go to 'blogs' or warezbb like fora to find rapidshare links or clutter around with temporary premium accounts. I'd rather go to TPB, type in the movie i want to see, download and wait a little bit. There is plenty of stuff I can do in the meanwhile. Like working, doing some chores, cooking.
And what's the obsession with speed? I am pulling in 1080p Bluray rips which are 1-2GB. Even with my 'crappy 10Mbit Torrentz connection' it takes less than half an hour. What's the difference between 10 minutes or 30 minutes? Or are you guys downloading 10GB releases of the whole universe? How much money do you guys spend on HDD, storage, internet connections etc? At some point hardware becomes a bottle neck. Can your hardware take 100mbit like a boss?

well i was thinking the same way. like 5 years ago.
if i want to see something i want to see it now. not in 30mins.
so speed is important.
but u sound like a collector, not someone who is downloading for instant watching or whatever.
no need to collect anything at all. everything u need is online.
i live together with a friend of mine and even if he got a movie that i want to see i rather download it again. because it's faster then searching and copying it over network
