I don't know shit? I am at 3rd year of University right now. I AM working hard. And I am working besides on weekend and every summer(and one whole year before university and after liceal school) since I was 15teen ,I was working at shipyard for 12hours daily. Don't say me anything about hard work. At least i feel like a man becouse I can work on every god damn machines possible:lol: I was a carpenter at that shityard.

But You know what? Working hard doesnt always cut it. Not in this fucking country. You just need luck. I still have 2-3 more years at university. We will see what work can i find then. I will be lucky If I can get 32m2 after studies with my gf.
Life hard is here. I am not saying that You need to work 3 years in shipyard to know that. Its just hard. I am second person in my family who went to studies. My sister have finished her 5years on University, year ago and she earns 1200zlotych. She can't move out of our parents flat becouse her bf earns 1500 and they cant affor a flat or at least they cant manage it somehow. She is 26yo and her bf is 31.
I am not saying its impossible. hard work is the prime rule, I agree. But its not all. Your father did it right and You all have better life now. Thats great. I didn't said anything bad about this.
My father is a carpenter. He is making great furniture and i am not working at shityard anymore:lol: but helping him out on most weekends and we are doing allright if we have at least 2 clients per month. But its just temporary. He is searching for a work for over 1 year now and it struggles me how hard it is to get a professionalist any work.
I was working at big company and managing cisco hardware last summer... god it was so good to have that work instead of anything Ive done before..
Anyway. lets not fight guys. All I wanted to explain is eastern vs western reality. Eastern have cheaper foor but much more expensive media and media players. At least I see that.

The problem is that todays youth seem to beleive that going to uni/college will somehow instantly grant you a high paying job. It doesn't. The fact that more and more people are going means less and less of those types of jobs will be available.
Keep beleiving it's 'luck' all you want. If you work hard and have a real talent at what you do you'll make a fortune. Moving crates at a shipping yard is hard work. No doubt. But moving a bunch of crates doesn't require expertise and talent that people will pay big money for. Any swinging dick can move some crates for a living.

Your exactly right. When i got out of university i was fine with only a B.Sc. in EE. But now companies are looking for masters and PhD grads for entry level positions.
I started @50K a year, now your lucky if your masters gets you 40K starting.
And school is really nothing, just a proving ground that you can adapt, think and learn at a professional level.
When i hear university students talking, behaving elite like they will have it made i always just smile. Because we have been there, done that. Then you graduate and reality sets in.

I don't know what your major is. But if the prior poster was right about you studying poetry;
You aren't ever going to make much money with such a dead-end path. Unless you have an innate talent to write really good poetry that will sell before you die. You'll be stuck being an educator, and being a teacher is not the path one takes if you want lots of money.

I know. Ive said this above.. or on the back page. That I was alreday doing a practice last summer as IT network guy in a big company:P
I just hope that I will find some work after studies. Anything IT is actually fine for me(other than programming which I hate)
Maybe I willl open IT shop and service. I always wanted to do that

This was more towards the people studying philosophy/political science or other useless shit and complaining.
If you are a good admin/hardware guy you should not have problems. Especially with certificates, maybe try looking abroad? |
I'm actually quite shit at computers and stuff but I'll get a job making HUNDREDS of dollars...a month.
