Google violated its own search guidelines for the Chrome download page, by paying for flattering blog posts with links to the page. After the sponsored post campaign came to light, the company has decided to penalize its own browser in ranking.
Chrome won’t rank in the top search results for the term “browser” for the next 60 days.
