Wouldn't it just kick every single things ass though? What's the cooldown, 24hrs? | I'm in bed with my laptop so I had to go downstairs to double check: its 5 minutes, which is pretty game breaking, but considering you have to finish the main quest, not so much I think. *But I think it only works outside; I've only ever used it outside so not 100% sure.
*You're right it is OP. If you summon two frost atronachs, the dragon, have a follower(which can also summon dead things), you can pretty much take on the entire Imperial army.

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - dragon fight
Ever since launch, Skyrim’s pretty much monopolized Steam’s most-played list (and, regrettably, the Internet’s entire supply of memes), so positively massive numbers were pretty much a foregone conclusion. That said, damn. First up, there’s this rather extraordinary bit:
“Skyrim is the fastest selling title in Steam’s history” said Jason Holtman, Valve’s director of business development (via IndustryGamers). “Bethesda’s commitment to and understanding of the PC as a gaming platform shows in the great review scores, spectacular launch, and continued high player numbers that Skyrim has received.”
Impressive? Certainly. But, uh, Holtman and I apparently didn’t fumble through the same wonky PC UI, whose convoluted layers made about as much sense as purchasing a plane ticket to visit your next door neighbors. Still though, a grand total of 10 million units shipped (not sold) and $650 million at retail on all platforms only serve to hammer home an obvious point: Skyrim’s kind of a big deal. Something tells me Tiny Tim the crippled Mudcrab is gonna have a magical Christmas after all. Well, until someone shouts him off a cliff, anyway.

I've had no problems with it, 4GB utility and SKSE were also updated along with various mods and plugins, game works quite well considering the amount of mods and texture replacers used.
Had a interesting encounter just now come to think of it.

(Just a third person image, even larger crowd, even a dog there now.)
(Thugs finally remember their job.)
(Thugs get killed off in what kinda looked like a small riot for a moment.)
(The contract one of them carried, unsure what I had done though, don't remember anything specific, stole some ingots here at the start of the game but that was quite some time ago, could be that I guess.)
(Said contractor, again a kid, I really have no luck with children in this game.)

JB, can you please list me everything you use (mods, tweaks, patches - but I suppose it's the last version since you own the game)? The game looks perfect for you, just what I want. I'll probably do a clean install, so there's nothing messing up the mods and all that.

Quote: | Sales and Numerous ‘Game of the Year’ Awards Underscore Worldwide Popularity
December 15, 2011 (Rockville, MD) – ZeniMax® Media Inc. today announced that 10 million units of Bethesda Softworks’® The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim have been shipped for the Xbox 360® video game entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and PC, representing approximately $650 million in retail sales since its release on November 11. The PC version of Skyrim in North America outsold all other PC games by a factor of over three to one in the month of its release. Large retail reorders across all platforms and record-breaking digital sales reflect the ongoing global demand by consumers excited to explore this extraordinary fantasy epic.
Bethesda Softworks’® Skyrim has already garnered over two dozen ‘Game of the Year’ awards from major outlets worldwide, including winning the top honor of Game of the Year at the 2011 Video Game Awards which are voted on by a panel of editors from the industry’s most respected magazines and websites. In addition, Skyrim has received ‘Game of the Year’ awards from numerous other game critics, which, to date include such respected media outlets as G4TV, Official Xbox Magazine and Machinima.com. Skyrim was named ‘Most -Played Game of 2011’ by Raptr, based on research data which confirms its highly popular gameplay experience.
“We are gratified that Skyrim continues to garner high review scores and accolades around the world,” said Robert Altman, Chairman and CEO of ZeniMax Media. “We are most grateful to our fans for their support and enthusiasm for the game, and their love of the hundreds of hours of gameplay it offers. We continue to strive to deliver the highest quality entertainment experience for everyone. 2012 will be another huge year for our fans, with the release of the Creation Kit, as well as exciting DLC which will add to the richness of this epic adventure."
“Skyrim is the fastest selling title in Steam's history” said Jason Holtman, Director of Business Development at Valve Corporation. “Bethesda’s commitment to and understanding of the PC as a gaming platform shows in the great review scores, spectacular launch, and continued high player numbers that Skyrim has received. We are delighted that Bethesda chose to use Steamworks to support Skyrim both at retail and digitally.”
Skyrim Is the third consecutive game developed by the team at Bethesda Game Studios® to earn ‘Game of the Year’ honors. Bethesda Game Studios, which was named ‘Studio of the Year’ at the 2011 Video Game Awards, also created the 2006 ‘Game of the Year’, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion®, and the 2008 ‘Game of the Year’, Fallout® 3.
To date, Skyrim has received well over 200 perfect review scores worldwide, earning the highest praise from some of the industry’s most influential critics including: USA Today, G4TV, The New York Times, GameSpy, Wired, Eurogamer, Destructoid, GamePro, Official Xbox Magazine, Joystiq, The Guardian, Famitsu and GamesRadar. G4TV describes Skyrim as “one of the greatest games ever” and Eurogamer was one of many outlets to call it a “masterpiece.”
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been rated M for Mature by ESRB. For more information on Skyrim visit http://elderscrolls.com. |
Something tells me we'll be seeing more games like this getting released in the future.

More games like what? Quality, or open-world "similars" like Arcania?

this.
usually it is not a problem, but it's frustrating that there's only one way to do most quests
like that murder mystery one.. i found out who the killer is and have a diary to prove it, but that's not how the devs planned me to find out so tough luck, try again
also, with quests being this simple, how can they still have broken quests?
they can literally draw a flowchart of all the things that could bug the quest and test it |
it's extremely irritating. Many times, I've got a quest where I'm supposed to kill someone, or rat them out or something, I should be given an option to warn them, team up with them to turn the tables, etc.
At this stage in gaming development it's pretty shoddy work. There are a lot of things skyrim does right, but a lot that are utter shit too.

Choices in RPGs are overrated. There are very few RPGs which actually do it in a way other than "go left or right". I'd rather have this than some bullshit "world changing options ZOMG" which lead to zilch and feel forced/artificial. Bethesda's games have never been an example of diverting paths, moral dilemma's and whatnot. I think and hope that will never be the case. I'll play games like Witcher if I feel like making choices.

There's basically one choice in The Witcher 2, who to ally. Otherwise it makes absolutely no difference, gameplay wise, what choices you make.

What you talking about, choices made in Mass Effect 1 were imported in Mass Effect 2 and made a huge dent in the gameplay and story.

Getting weird glitches where people's head disappear.
And now off to the fun of finding out which mod is causing that >.<

Sure, I'll try.
ENB is used but I'm just starting with it - http://enbdev.com/download_en.htm
(MLAA also - http://mrhaandi.blogspot.com/p/injectsmaa.html )
Two configurations for this ENB modification are also used and I think it's the first of these I'm using in the above images.
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3532
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3771
These are also under investigation or what to call it but I'm not sure about them yet.
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=822
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3342
For the landscape I use the following.
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3030
(Only place in the game using parallax seems to be said ice models, trying to add this effect to the farm "set" and especially the stone walls but have not had much luck due to the early versions of NifSkope, this will improve though.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2146
(Just about to compare these texture against texture with http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1900 but we'll see how that goes, I imagine I'll use parts from both.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=141
(For trees and certain such plants.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3467
(Villages and farmstead textures.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=114
(For Whiterun, didn't use the banners and door textures though.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=587
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=549
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=493
(For the ebony armor, just the base textures, not the environment - m and normal - n textures.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2854
(As a test for the - in my opinion rather poor - default ebony and daedric swords.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1197
(Updated environment map textures for armor, slightly "better" shine to them.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1002
(A couple of new swords re-added now that they're retextured.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1754
(Some ongoing retextures of the default weapons, they're not bad - the defaults that is - but this helps improve them further.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1227
(Helps sorting with containers, not a full fix but a much needed improvement, needs SKSE though - http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1302434-wipz-skyrim-script-extender-skse/ )
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=154
(This was used on the main menu logo, only the normal res though as the others are very badly upscaled.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1866
(A retexture of Alduin, rather subtle.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2271
(Somewhat ambitious project to retexture the other dragons.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1421
(Swamp/Blood dragon alpha fix, another bug/oversight but rather minor.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3605
(For the ingots, also fixes a bug with the gold ingot and swaps silver and iron which Bethesda messed up.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2947
(For spell impacts.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=60
(For the blood.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013
(LAA patch, hopefully that 1.4 update with this added will be out today making this redundant.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=346
(For the body textures, normal maps and such, in my opinion the best of what's available since there's no blur or upscaling used, head and body base textures are also replaced by other mods but I can't find them any longer unfortunately.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=88
(Further interface fixes.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=80
(Smaller mouse cursor.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=479
(Font replacement.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3222
(Hides the HUD until it's needed.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1010
(Crafting of arrows.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1020
(Smithing improvements.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=711
(For the water, with this http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1111 and this http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3068 as potential replacements.)
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2532
(Spiderweb retexture.)
I think that was most of it, will go trough the Skyrim folder to see if I missed anything.
