<3 That game had some great missions and scoring a particularly large loot was always the highpoint of any excursion out of the base. Smile Wish there were more freedom though, ship selection and outfitting was very limited. Amazing gameplay but not that much depth.

i always hated combat its so not intuitive. If they just mixed some independence war 2 into it or even freespace 2. but i guess when you do an engine where a sector is simulated not emulated then massive cpu power goes down the drain.

Still there is no other space trading game that could take X3 spot. (thats kinda sad)

Found a special deal for it ?

I've been looking to add it to my collection as well, but as I already own both Reunion and Terran Conflict I find it a bit pricey (@ €39,99).

Released on Steam, 250 MB, requires Terran Conflict.
(I bought it via Gamersgate due to the better price so it won't be available for a few hours but it's out on Steam now.)

The size in itself doesn't tell much of the amount of new content, since the script stuff which includes... pretty much everything - apart from the obvious stuff like textures, cinematics (which I doubt this has), sounds etc. - takes diddly squat in diskspace.

The size is actually a bit bigger since the 3.1.1 patch for X3:TC added part of this data, addon folder (Which is what this uses, appears to have upset some mods due to folder and engine changes also.) is over 1 GB actually.

Unsure how much new content there is, begins with a pretty big event and then the game goes back one year and you choose one of the existing presets or create a custom (non-story event.) game, some of these are new to me but I didn't play X3:TC much so I missed some of the content like suicidal squid (Dead is dead.) mode.

Does AP mess up all the mods and mod scripts that were made for TC?

Edit:
Egosoft wrote:
Scripts from X3: TC can be loaded by X3: AP. Whether mods or scripts work depends on what they do or reference. Several files which existed in X3: TC were modified for X3: AP and are now loaded from catalogues in the 'addon' folder. Installing should be as simple as using the 'addon' folder as the target directory. Information on whether a mod works with X3AP may be found in its thread once tested by its creator or the community.

Guess I'll wait a few weeks before playing this. Smile

I would wager yes. I will install this separately and keep my modded install intact.

The interface in X3 TC really sucked ass. I liked the original X3 much better. No idea why they had to go and fuck around with the interface. Sad
