EA has unveiled Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances, a browser-based strategy game set in the Command & Conquer Tiberium universe.
Tiberium Alliances is developed by the EA-owned German RTS studio Phenomic (SpellForce, BattleForge, Lord of Ultima).
"Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances brings the battle to your browser in this epic strategy MMO," reads EA's official blurb.
"Compete or ally with your friends in a worldwide war for precious resources. Based in the Command and Conquer Tiberium story world, C&C Tiberium Alliances allows players to experience C&C in a brand new way.
"Using HTML 5 technology, players are able to access their game from any web accessible browser making this one of the first truly portable mmo strategy titles to hit the market."
You can apply for the closed beta today at www.TiberiumAlliances.com - a website yet to fully launch.
The reveal comes hot on the heels of the announcement of Command & Conquer: Generals 2, a PC-exclusive RTS from BioWare Victory and due out in 2013.
Conquer Everywhere - Hardcore strategy gameplay available wherever you are. Play on your web browser from any html5 compatible browser or mobile device all for free.
Build Alliances - Diplomacy can get you everywhere. Build alliances & conquer new territory through leveraging your social network strategically.
Grow your Empire - Expand your territory by gathering resources, defeating enemies and taking over new areas of a dynamically updating map.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Psssst, browser-based gaming isn't always a joke these days Games such as QuakeLive and Bastion or engines like Unreal Engine 3, Ogre3D, APE, Unity... etc etc
I wanted to emphasize on 'MMO' and not on 'browser-based'.
Order & Chaos says hi It's actually not that bad a game either, I got it for the iPod but the browser version is superior (controls + screen real estate makes it infinitely more pleasurable to play) =) Now obviously I'm not defending this C&C title, I'm just saying; don't immediately rule it out because it is browser-based ... browser gaming has come a significantly long way.

This says HTML5-powered though. Doesn't this mean it's different than the above that are basically a "normal" engine just "loaded" into the browser? Idk.
Oh and I just realised the Order & Chaos video I linked was hardly the best example, seeing as how the dude's laptop is about as powerful as a a wet noodle attempting to slap you

Bastion is HTML5. (I think...)
I signed up for the beta of Alliances, loaded the homepage and it said "Beta Code accepted!" with a huge blue button saying "Play Now!" teasingly. Clicking it took me to a loading screen that eventually stopped and said "No Beta Access" in red Turns out it was a glitch that the accounts are being auto-accepted, the game was even available to play yesterday - with several people on the forum playing it - but it's not officially live yet (not even beta, closed or otherwise) so access has been shut down again. No screens posted, but apparently it's not using the TS/RA2 perspective, but rather that similar to StarCraft 1.

fuck EA, god damn, just let C&C die peacefully, you don't have to railroad into the ground and turn it into a joke first.
