An Ibanez GRG electric guitar should be perfect, I've got one of those along with a Spider IV amp at 15W.

Why not connect it to your PC and run it through GuitarRig? With that you've got hundreds of combinations with cabinets and amps simulated as well as every damn possible (and impossible) effect you could ever dream of.

for a beginner, less is sometimes more and it's quite a bit easier to just plug it in instead of setting up everything via pc and focusing on playing the guitar instead of playing around with settings Wink
plus a small amp makes for a nice little portable setup if you wanna play with friends.

but i don't disagree, guitar rig lets you experiment to your heart's content and you don't have to shell out for fx pedals with it

Oh, you're absolutely right. I didn't even have a real amp, I had a battery driven Dean Markley amp when I started out. Laughing

Worked just fine until I had learned enough to want more.

Ibanez Sa-120, recommend it to every1 who starts playing. Is even a good guitar for more experienced players.
