Despite some of the stories going up around the web concerning the status of the PC version of Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Ubisoft Community Developer Antoine Emond has taken to Twitter to urge fans to await official information.
“Don’t believe all rumours you can read on the Internet. Official information is always better. #GRFS”
This rallying cry comes after a PC Gamer interview with Ghost Recon Online producer Sébastien Arnoult (Ghost Recon Online being Ubisoft’s F2P PC exclusive within the same franchise universe). His comments in the interview have led some outlets to believe that Ubisoft is planning to scrap the planned PC port of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, preferring to offer the free-to-play game Ghost Recon Online instead. The console versions remain unaffected and are still on course for a March 6th, 2012 release date.
More on this as it develops. |

Of course they don't give a source, because it's always the same one with such statements: their fucking asses. Ubisoft really hates pirates with a passion it seems. They're always on a crusade against us. Oh well, I'll feel even better the next time I'll pirate one of their games!

I don't even pirate their crappy games anymore. Waste of time anyway. Last Ubiburp game I've played were the repetitive adventures of Ezio Faggitore 2.

95% of what, exactly? Total copies in existence I'm presuming? It always amuses me how they come up with these figures. Even more amusing is the fact that they consider them lost sales, just like the movie industry, and generate a whole raft of bogus figures for supposed lost revenue.
And if the F2P model is the same percentage of paying customers, wtf would you even bother claiming it's the way of the future? Unless you plan on nickel and diming them even more than is the case currently with standard retail games.
The other thing I find amusing is the whole DRM thing. If it's such a spectacular failure, if 8 million people played AC Revolutions on PC but only 400K bought it (extrapolating from VGCHartz equally bullshit figures), why even bother? Surely they could save themselves a fortune in licensing costs and server deployment/upkeep, not to mention not pissing off the people that actually do pay for games.

The problem with that demented statement, is that it's totally pointless.
If I said to an investor "heck I don't want to open a store selling X because I'd only get 5% of the market" and the market is billions of dollars, he'd call me an idiot.
Ubisoft are no better - if millions of broke and skint Asians and Russians pirate the game, so what? They don't influence the target market whatsoever. It sounds like Ubisoft just hate people enjoying their games even if they would never pay for them because they can't afford them.
In reality, there's a market to make a lot of money but Ubisoft has been talking so much shit, been anally raping PC gamers for years and years and years that their target market despises them so much that they no longer buy their games, surprise surprise. They're utterly clueless how retarded they come across to the PC gamer community and all they're doing, is digging deeper and deeper holes by spouting more and more bullshit instead of holding up their hands and saying "okay we're utter cunts but we'll try to be better from now on". Noooo, they go "We're utter cunts and we LOVE it! Fuck you PC gamers!".
Honestly, the people managing Ubisoft should get fired and made to work in McDonalds. They're utterly worthless and despicable - such idiocy offends my intelligence.
